Dylansmommy
My 11 year old son wants a Pip Boy toy. Fine, I pre-ordered it from Think Geek. But that appears to be the only thing he wants. When I ask him what he wants for Christmas, he says the only thing he wants is that item. Does anyone just get their kid one item?? That's a new concept for me!! riven3d
i have always tried to get what my kid wants, then i grab a few other things that i think or know they will like as well
Bopeep
My kids generally would only tell me 1 or 2 things they wanted, then I filled in the rest with other stuff I thought they would like. They figured out pretty early that if they kept their list short, they would probably get whatever was on it, LOL.
tracy0504
I try to fulfill the requested item(s) and then add some fillers...as long as you get the item(s) requested everything else will be a pleasant surprise...
bluebear
For the fillers, I try to get some things related to the main item. Has he already pre-ordered Fallout76? Did you get the thing from think geek that you have to build? I looked just yesterday, and they have a lot of neat fallout things. Maybe one of those might interest him?But my kids usually don't have just "one thing" it seems. Last year, one son wanted a turn table. And then all the things... Cleaner, bookshelf speakers, albums, record cases... So that made it easy. Older son will usually say a particular table gaming set he wants, so then again accessories... Paint, other figures, tools...On one hand I hate it, because I feel like it's just all one thing that relates... But on the other hand makes it kinda easy, and it's what they want.

Of course, there were a couple years when they were little that I would literally go to Walmart in the middle of the night, the night before Christmas Eve, because when I got out their stuff it didn't look like "enough". I have a problem. LOL

Yes, we already pre-ordered him Fallout 76. We go to ThinkGeek quite often so he already has a lot of the Fallout merchandise. I ordered the Pip Boy kit that you have to build - that's what he wanted. I'm going to buy those Nuka Cola bottle caps for his stocking. Last year, he wanted the new Call of Duty and Assassins Creed games - are there new releases of those games this year?? Right now, he only likes Fortnite and Fallout! He's just at an awkward age when he's growing out of toys. In years past, I'd get him the newest Nerf gun or lego sets, and this year he's not interested. So, I'm kind of lost! I'd just wish he'd add just a few more things!
bluebear
We also ordered the thing to build... Hope it gets built! I'm also thinking of buying the Nuka cola lamp. That looks pretty cute. My fallout kid hasn't told me yet what he wants. Hopefully he will soon! Leading candidate is Oculus Rift, so then we can get a couple things to go with.
