Scott Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 That is a SWEET deal on a SWEET remote. I have a harmony remote and I can honestly say it is one of the best HT purchases I have ever made.
i-bystander Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Yep, that's an awesome remote indeed. Great price!
RossMAN Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I'm doing some research right now but it looks like this is a winner! http://www.hanselman.com/blog/LogitechHarmony880RemoteControlReview.aspx Any idea if this is compatible with the Motorola 6412 HD DVR from Comcast?
Brad Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 As long as it uses IR, you should have no problems.
i-bystander Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I've played around with one of these, and it is slick. There's known issues with the charger base, and/or the battery compartment. You either have to weigh it down to charge it, or stick a piece of paper/cardboard in the battery compartment. You have to reboot A LOT esp. when first setting it up or when you're having problems controlling components. I've experienced a lot of the issues people describe in this review, but all in all, it's a nifty little gadget. At this price, you can overlook all those little things, though. Here's another deal if you're shopping for a new remote: Logitech Harmony 628 Remote with FREE Astar DVD-3800 DVD Player ($74.99)
i-bystander Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I can't get the coupon to work... can anyone of you try to see if it still works?
i-bystander Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 "We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has previously been redeemed."
labgeek Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 There's a contest to win these going on right now too. DTV/Tivo has been advertising it.http://www.logitech.com/remote

i-bystander Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Looks like the coupon was one-time use... anyone got any more of these? EDIT: My bad, it's for the first 800 uses. You snooze, you lose.
RossMAN Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Does anyone have a spare $20 off $200 coupon?
RossMAN Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 All I got was the $400 off a 32" LCD TV. Likewise, I got 2 of those!
