mrn8
What size monitor are you looking for? Do you have a DVI video card? Are you going to use it for basic computer (internet, email, word processing) or for games and movies?

brian
Hi All: Thanks for the reply. BTW..what is a dvi? I am sorry i did not know that. I want to watch sme streaming online games n the LCD. I am looking for a 19" Inch. Please advise. Thanks Brian
mrn8
DVI is a digital video inteface - usually, that will be a white connector on the video card, rather than blue. Some have both.
RossMAN
$250 for a 19" LCD is pushing it. Unless you go with an off name brand, you probably won't get a nice Samsung 19" with DVI and 3 year warranty.
brian
Rossman: Happy new year.. Sorry, that is where i started and could extend it for a good product. Any recommendations? Best Regards Brian
thechef71
I've got an Acer 19 inch lcd it's pretty decent but no dvi. I think it's going for slightly less than 250 at newegg now. It's not as good as samsung though.
psiu
Dell Analog 19" LCD for 279.20 right now. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=E1963YR&c=us&cat=snp&category_id=211&cs=19&l=en&Page=productlisting.aspx If you could stack it with a coupon off of ebay that would be a great deal, although someone with more experience with this should chime in if they know if that would work or not. mrn8
Acer AL1914B - 19" LCD, 12ms refresh, 1280x1024 native resolution That's a pretty decent monitor for the price.
BobbyDouglas
For an extra $10 you can get 2nd day shipping if you buy here. Either way is a good buy. If you can wait a month or so, you might be able to save another $20-$30. Here is a pretty good one for $220 after $30 MIR: Rosewill R911E 12ms Black 19" 12ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 500:1 Built in Speakers 0.294mm Pixel Pitch - Retail

brian
one more... http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11104101&whse=BC&topnav=&browse= Thanks Brian.
mrn8
Go with the Costco one. I didn't get the link from Tiger Direct to work, but they are notorious for not fulfilling warranties. The Sceptre monitor at Costco has gotten some good reviews from games, and Costco is a trustworthy company to buy from.
brian
OK. I almst decided on the sceptre before i ran into this one today http://www.buy.com/prod/viewsonic_19_widescreen_lcd_8m_video_respose_integrated_vga_speakers/q/loc//PageFormat/40/imgNum/1/202066865.html#moreimg Can i apply any cupons on this? I am firsttimer with buy.com and also is this LCD monitor good? Thanks Brian.
mrn8
If you are choosing between the Sceptre and the Viewsonic, go with the Viewsonic. It has a higher resolution and has analog and DVI connectors. You can use the $15 off $200 code for new buy.com customers by clicking on this link. brian
Rossman et all THanks so much. I am going with the viewsonic. Do i need any special graphice card for this r just normal plug and play? I have a Dell P4 with XP. THanks again Brian.
RossMAN
You can just plug it in and it will work. However for optimal picture quality you should connect it via DVI. Your video card needs to support DVI. Look on Dell.com lookup your Dell service code, it should show if your PC came with DVI or not. You can always buy a video card with DVI from newegg.com for around $60 shipped.
