shanni Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 My hubby got me 5 dvds, which was great, I wanted everyone of them! Then I started thinking about how he never shops online, and asked him if he would mind telling me how much he paid. He paid 20.00 per dvd!! So I asked him if he would mind if I returned them and rebuy them online, he paid $108.00 in total, I paid $58.12 for the same dvds, saving him $41.88! So glad he always saves his receipts.
Guest all2tired Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 That's a BIG savings. You need to teach him a few things about shopping. LOL
shanni Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 I've been trying! But he's not doing very well...
Guest all2tired Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 My husband is the same way. He still hasn't used the gc I gave him to get me something and it expires in a couple of days. I need to get it off of him so I can use it them. Don't know if you saw my thread about the stuff I got for free, well, he would never have thought of doing something like that. I think he thinks that you have to spend $$ to get something good. Well I think getting work boots, wallet, belt and a lot of toys for free is good too. LOL
Melissa Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I think he thinks that you have to spend $$ to get something good. LOLMine is the same way. He never looks for the best deal. The first store he goes to that sells whatever he's looking for....he's buying it there. Nevermind that the store across the street has it for $30 cheaper. He'd rather save time, I'd rather save money!
sperdue Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Not for the same reason, but I will have to return a gift for the same person twice I posted a thread about needing help with a gift for my friend. I bought Friends season 10, which someone else gave her. I returned it and ordered Charmed season 1. She told me yesterday someone out of town gave her that. So looks like I'll be returning again. Circuit City is going to think I'm nutzo. Guess I'll order Charmed season 2.... surely she won't get anymore gifts :)
Guest Deals4Me Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 LMAO...My hubby did so well.... I'll post soon about that!
BFJedi Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Opposite here. I am the husband and I find the deals. My wife is impatient and can't normally wait for a good deal online (with shipping time). I usually hold out if it takes longer.. it's all about the bottom line to me. :)
mjmcca Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I love to shop and if i really want something and i know i wont get a deal on it i dont mind paying full price. I much prefer getting a deal however, so this site is really good for me!
civicracinggirl7 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Mine is the same way. He never looks for the best deal. JonathanM Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I am willing to wait for good deals on some items, however I have paid retail and above retail when I really wanted something.
BCBGirl Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 My boyfriend won’t pay full price for anything. He won’t buy it if its full price..
trayceigh Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Shanni, where do you find great deals on DVD's?
mjmcca Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 The best place IMO to price out DVDs is dvdpricesearch.com it searches multiple sites and shows you the prices for them with shipping.
christmasangel Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 My hubby bought me the Scunci Steamer from BBB- I was so upset becasue he didnt take the 20% off coupon and it expired 12/26/05 I told him he would have saved $12!
shanni Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 I use that too, but I was stunned the other day when overstock had some boxed sets on sale for 50% off, I paid $14.99 for the season 1 dvd, its 31.00 in walmart. But it never came up on dvdpricesearch, I was so shocked.
mjmcca Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Yeah sometimes they arent correct but they are the best for comparing prices without going to each website and looking for yourself individually.
gisellerol Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I have 2 gifts to return and every year it's from the same person my sister for the life of her my sister can not shop.
*sparkles* Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 wow! that is a big difference...good job. also thanks for those websites, didn't know about them.
barghunter Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Great deal Shanni! The question now.....who gets to spend the $41.88 you saved him? ;)
Missy Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Amazon.com and deepdiscountdvd.comMy sister sent me an email earlier about the deepdiscountdvd website, it is terrific. My son got a PSP for Christmas and they have their PSP movies(umd's) buy one get one free & free shipping. He is a tightwad and does not like spending his own money , but he was willing to for that kind of deal.
