malachitecat Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I went to check my ham and the temp and it still wasn't getting done, then I realized that it was still on PREHEAT!!! my ham has been preheating for 3 hours now.....instead of cooking.
noehlp Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 LOL You are not stupid, just, um, preoccupied with all the rush of things. Happy holidays.
magickallight Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Bless your heart - hang in there - it will get done sooner or later.
gisellerol Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 tell me about it i have been cooking my pork in the oven since 8:00 am and its now2:45 and it still isn't done and we were planning on eating at 4:00pm
rabx5 Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Something you will always remember. I have one for ya, Friday I had to work and hubby was home, so I threw a turkey breast in a slow cooker and left instructions for him along with a meat thermometer. He said the first time he checked the internal temp, he knew it should have read at a higher temp- he forgot to remove the red plastic cover that you store the thermometer in. Um derrrrr. It all turned it good and was actually the moistest turkey breast ever.
laffnatu Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 LOL You're not stupid.... Just busy. I hope you enjoyed your dinner when it was finally done.
KarenH Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I'm sure in the long run it was better than the Jack In The Box I had even if you did have to work for it, lol!
able Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 if it makes you feel any better my brother did even worse he put a ham in the oven and when he went to check it 2 hours later he realised he forgot to turn the oven on!!!!and had a house full of guests!
malachitecat Posted December 26, 2005 Author Posted December 26, 2005 finally admitted to SO what I did with the ham and he said he was wondering why it took so long to get done (5 hrs for a 13 lb ham) :) but in the end it finally got done just before everyone got here and turned out really good because it soaked that much longer in the ton of glaze I put on it.
sheli Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 My ham said cook at 325 for 1 hour, but over 1.5 hrs later it wasn't done. Had to cut it and microwave it. Not sure what we did wrong but oh well, it tasted fine, we just didn't tell the guests that we microwaved it.
