I babysit for a friend twice a week (girl age 6 and boy age 4). They have many people that buy them gifts, and their birthdays are in October and December. I want to buy for them, but have honestly already had a difficult time figuring out what to get them for their birthdays that they don't already have. Do you think a 6 year old and 4 year old would enjoy gift certificates/cards or will they be completely lost about it? I was going to get them cards to a local indoor miniature gold and laser tag place, a cookie place right by the min golf, a fast food place, and maybe a few other places.

Also, my two cousins are in college (18 y/o female and 20 y/o male). I was going to purchase a gift, but thought about putting together a food basket for them for their dorms. They have fridges and microwaves.

I'd love suggestions on unique and fun ways to give the gifts as well.

Thoughts? I'm too indecisive and DH is of little help! Lol TIA!

I do think a 6 and 4 year old wouldn't understand the value of a GC or certificate. At that age they want something they can use "right now". Can you take them there one day when you are babysitting and tell them this is their Christmas gift or maybe do a spa day and go get their nails and toes done? As far as your cousins, I think that's a great idea!

That could possibly work! I could take them over to play and eat before their mom even gets off work! Thanks for the suggestion!

the 18 and 20 yr old what about a  gas card / GC  for two to movie (so they can take a friend) and a few snacks sounds great to me.

The 6 and 4 year  I say take them to go play laser tag/mini golf - if they don't really need anything or maybe pick out one dvd you think they may like , a game and some snacks.

I agree with taking the littles to the miniature golf place or wherever; make a fun day out for them!

As the parent of a daughter in college, I think the food is a great idea; I know my daughter would sure think so!
