bpr Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I feel like I was scammed by everyone on BF on the internet. It started with ToysRus. I was trying to purchase the lego X-Wing fighter for $25. Put it in my cart and went to check-out. By the time I added my info, BAM!, it was gone, removed from my cart:bs: . Checked the site and could not longer order. Tried again later and they did it again(took a screen shot to show you could order it). Never did get it. Next was Target. Ordered the Lego Millenium Falcon for $49, ad said it would be online for that price. Put it in my cart and went to check-out. By the time I added my info, BAM!, it was gone, removed from my cart:bs: . I tried again and made it thru checkout, Whew, I'm safe. My child will be happy. He really wanted it. 3 or 4 days later, BAM! Got a cancellation. Then the infamous BB laptop deal. Ordered it online and 12 hours later, BAM! Cancellation:bs: Hard to believe 3 sites got me. I will be writing to their offices. Other than that, I did get some nice things here and there. I guess it's best to stand in line though.

Provide screen shot copies in the complaints.
bpr Posted December 1, 2005 Author Posted December 1, 2005 Yeah, I've got TRU screenshot, Target confirmation, and BB confirmation and screenshot of my cart at checkout. I should raise heck.
treasure60 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 I have come to the conclusion that ordering online this year isn't working out quite like it has in the past for me either. Even Amazon has been giving me problems. 3 out of 5 things I couldn't get. That all said.....I still love shopping!
queenofshopping Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 unfortunately, the more people who do their shopping online, the more problems people will have bc of heavy traffic, servers down, items being sold out, etc
snowcrustracer Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Same here I ordered one sale item from Best-buy and the store stated that the item was in stock and it took my order. Two days later I received a e-mail that the item was unavailable. Same thing happened at Wal-mart. Sale item back ordered. I'm not going to wait until I can't get the stuff because the shelves are bare. I just cancelled the orders and bought elsewhere.
alimfp Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Complaining to someone may not be worth your time. Check the sites and check their terms/conditions. Many say they have the right to cancel a purchase, stop you from purchasing, etc etc for any reason at anytime. This is why I never depend on online shopping for gifts. I always have a backup plan at a B&M store if at all possible!

bethc24 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Does everyone remember my post about this happening to me with Sears last year?!? We were all hoping that it wouldn't happen again, but sure enough, the stores haven't truly figured out how to handle internet business...maybe by next year...of course, we'll all be too chicken to even try!

bpr Posted December 3, 2005 Author Posted December 3, 2005 Got a reply from Target today. They offered me another Star Wars Lego set for the same price. Not as much savings, but a nice gesture on their part. Hard to believe they were going out of their way to make it right. Thanks Target.
alimfp Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I am glad they replied at least, nice of them to offer something as well. :)
