Mike Posted December 7, 2005 Author Posted December 7, 2005 My free luggage arrived at my parents house (did 2 orders). I didn't really have a chance to look over it, but it looked rather crapy.
JanetThomas1 Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I got my free luggage today also and mine looks pretty crappy too - but not for $10 I suppose. My order for my 19" has not been processed though - I don't know what is going to happen with this one!
Mike Posted December 7, 2005 Author Posted December 7, 2005 Yea, im ancy about the monitor. I couldn't care less about the luggage. Just got it to sell it to cover taxes, etc.
Lightning_ Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Ok.. If you have not figured out how the discounts work here it goes. If you are only buying the monitor your purchase price is $499.99. Now once you keep adding these special offers the system takes the retail price of the freebie item off of the price of your original purchase I.E. the monitor. So if you are doing the monitor luggage combo the math looks like this. Monitor $499.99 -$89.99 -$49.99 -$39.99 $320.02 This means you are still qualified to get the luggage freebie (min purchase $125) Now when you try to add the Coffee Maker or the Mini Fridge the cost of that item then comes off the original purchase (I.E. the monitor in this case). Monitor $499.99 -$89.99 -$49.99 -$39.99 $320.02 -$49.99 $270.03 This now takes you out of qualification for the Mini Fridge ($500 minimum purchase) and the Coffee maker ($350 minimum purchase) because "The total discount exceeds the purchase price" To get the coffee maker you need to spend an additional $79.97 (not worth it) The Mini-fridge setup would look like this. Monitor $499.99 -$89.99 -$49.99 -$39.99 $320.02 -$129.99 $190.03 So now you would need to spend $309.97 more to make this setup work (again not worth it) I hope this sheds some light as to why the Mini-fridge and the Coffee maker don’t work automatically. You just need to make up the difference by purchasing additional items.
Lightning_ Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Oh yea but you can add the $30 off for spending $150 + code (28584074) That will work the whole time.
Mike Posted December 7, 2005 Author Posted December 7, 2005 So that is why I could never get the mini fridge coupon to work.
momofmo Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Reiceived the" luggage"...OD should be ashamed to ship such junk. It's not suitable for gifting or resale. I'll donate it and take the tax write-off. Still waiting on the monitor.
BigBob Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Good idea --- donate the luggage to charity and take the tax write-off. OD established the value of it in writing ! ! ! The monitor arrived last night. No receipt. No packing list. I'm contacting OD to see what they can provide so that I can process the rebates. There doesn't seem to be anything that resembles a "receipt" anywhere in the transaction that I can fine. Anyone have any ideas on what they will use for the rebate receipt ????? Update: Per "Horace" at OD's CS 800 number, the "order detail" sheet that is available on their web site is the receipt and he is POSITIVE that it will be accepted by both Sony and the OD rebate centers.
