fairydustcrissy
Yes, we are old skool and have no wireless router. In order to have the 360 go online (and on the big tv) we need to run the cable from our bedroom to the living room, along the trim. I saw the geeks HDA price, but I need something better. Please help!

RossMAN
You'd be surprised but I would try your local Home Depot or Lowe's which sell CAT5 cable at reasonable prices.
fairydustcrissy
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=CAT5E-300-30Uwow, how come the 300 ft is cheaper than 100 ft? odd. I will check HD, thanks Ross!
RossMAN
HD and Lowe's also have 10% off coupons floating around, check Google.
labgeek
wow, how come the 300 ft is cheaper than 100 ft? odd. I will check HD, thanks Ross! For one that's solid wire. Most patch cables are stranded - not a huge difference but some. Solid is normally used for punch down terminals. If you don't kink it and aren't trying to get the absolute fastest out of the cable, you'll probably be fine. Then it's not premade, you have to put the ends on yourself. But you do get the crimper...
killershroom
Fry's will have some good prices, but for 300ft, that's a good price for what you get.

Seedillume
Yes, we are old skool and have no wireless router...Maybe so, but your network is faster, less latency, more secure. and cheaper than all of those wireless connections. Besides, you really won't have to worry about interference either.
ES1
Do I love GottaDeal! I needed a 100' ethernet cable to connect two computers to my router. One of the computers is "old" and I don't want to connect the other wirelessly so... ethernet it is. First, I used a couple of search engines and then the lightbulb went off. GottaDeal! And there it was - a perfect thread and the answer I needed. Cables for less is shipping tomorrow. Thanks a lot
