Cindlu
I got the 15" LCD TV at WalMart on BF. I am not thrilled with the Symphonic brand, but I will open the box and check it out after my son goes back to college tomorrow. The ad said models vary and this is what our WM had. I was banking on a better brand, but I picked it up anyway for $178. Does anyone know anything about the Symphonic brand? Like who makes it? sheli
Symphonic is the same as Sylvaina and Emerson, sometimes features vary but they are all owned by the same company. Symphonic typically at Wal-mart. It's an LCD tv for $178...an excllent price for a good tv.
Kandy
I've purchased the 25 " Symphonic tvs from WM for my kids a few years back and they are going strong.
uscboy
I had a 4-head HiFi VCR from them a few years back and it started eating tapes after about a year of very light usage. Not sure if that is representative of everything they make... probably not, but it pissed me off. :) But not too much... I mean, who watches VHS tapes anymore? Mommie2one
The tvs are fine in my experience, but the VCRs go to crap. Ate my tapes and stopped playing movies entirely.
Gporter34
I have bought them before and didn't expect much because they were cheap, however, they turned out to be great! I have them in all of my kids' rooms and if they can stand the abuse they get from them and still be going strong, they are worth the money to me.lol
fairydustcrissy
Wow, glad I'm not teh only one who had probs with the VCR. I sent it back 4 times, the 5th finally went in the garbage. I have posted about them several times on the boards. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks they suck.
Gporter34
Oh, yeah. The vcrs were crap. I bought one and had nothing but problems with it. But the tvs seem to be great.
aolson
My Symphonic and Sylvaina are still running strong...
carz316
I bought a WM BF Symphonic dual DVD/VCR player & 20" TV two years ago, which my 5 yr old uses on a daily basis. To my surprise, the player has never had any problems. In fact, it's better at playing CD-R/RW's than my Sony or Samsung dvd player. I've never had any issues with these two WM symphonic electronics. Cindlu
Thanks for all of the info. I feel better, but will wait when I check the quality in the picture.
angel-too
Still let us know what its like, I almost bought that one. I got the last Polaroid 15" LCD at my WM, but wasnt sure if it was rolled back to 178 also. So I held on to both. When a Mgr. told me it was I opted for the Polaroid. Another lady was VERY happy when I released the Symphonic to her.
RossMAN
I wouldn't make any decisions until you set it up and see with your own eyes hw good or bad it is. You get what you pay for.
