liquidblue13 Posted November 20, 2005 Share Posted November 20, 2005 My wife and I were going to pick up our youngest DS the Fisher Price musical chair for his birthday. We were at our local Walmart last week and they had them advertised for $24.77. My mother just purchased one for my neice the day before. Anyway, we decided to wait to get it until we actually saw it put together. Fast forward one week (this past Thursday). We go back into Walmart to pick one up since our son seemed to like playing on my neice's. We looked at the sticker and of course it said $24.77, get to the checkout and it's ringing up $29.77. My wife said something to the cashier, she called for the manager. The store manager gets over there and said, she was sorry that someone forgot to remove the sticker, but those chairs have alays been $29.77 and the only time they would be on sale for $24.77 is the day ofter Thanksgiving. My wife just dropped it and didn't say anything more. We go over to my mother's that evening, she still had her receipt, and yes, she got the chair for you guessed it $24.77. A couple of our friends bought theirs the day before we did and they got theirs fro $24.77. I just find it terribly funny that Walmart will have it for their black friday sale for $24.77 making people think they are getting a bargain, when in fact it's been $24.77 at this Walmart since they first got it in. We also noticed a few other things from what's supposed to be on "sale" that day from Walmart, most we had alredy purchased before viewing this website. Most of those things we got for the same "sale" price they're advertising for black friday. I looked in the store today to see if I noticed any mark ups. And yes, they were marked up from $5 to $10 higher than what we paid for them a few weeks ago. So, I will be staying home that day to avoid the traffic and crowds, knowing they aren't really getting too great of a deal. And just FYI...our local Walmart already has the computers, dvd players and tvs at the black friday prices. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Candy Posted November 21, 2005 Share Posted November 21, 2005 With 4 wal-marts within a 35 minute radius of my house....I am hoping strategically placing dh at one and me at another....with hopes of making it to a third or 4th if no luck on a laptop or gameboy advance will work! taegan Posted November 21, 2005 Share Posted November 21, 2005 I went and put stuff on layaway a few weeks ago at Wal*Mart. I put a Little Tyke keyboard on layaway for my daughter. It had a tag that said $27.77 (or something). When I got home and looked at my receipt, it said $32!!! Toys R Us is having the same keyboard for $14.88 on BF.
