jason Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Last week my grandma asked me to take her shopping. That is always "fun" Lets just say we go to every store at least three times anyone else go shopping with grandma?
kalle1212 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Definetely not on BF, but any other day of the year I would have no problem taking my nonny! Especially because you can get the senior citizen discounts at Kohls.
sunprincess831 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 We used to take my grandmother shopping all the time before she passed away....yea it was a pain going so slow and having to pull the wheel chair in and out and squeeze it through the aisles, but I would give ANYTHING to go shopping with her just one more time!
laura8773 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 My grandma won't go on BF. I asked her to and she just laughed at me. I enjoy going shopping with her. Not only can she "wander" when she is in the mood, but if it a hurry trip she can go faster than me.
alimfp Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 If I still had a Grandma, I would.. not on BF, but in general, yes. :) When I was younger, my Mom took my Grandma shopping a lot.
mrsbmb Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 the key is early in the morning! there is hardly anyone in the stores except other elderly people. walmart opens at 7am here and its a great time to shop. It is a slow process isnt it. they are so worthy of our patience though. I like the the check writing at the register taking as long as if you were writing a novel to fill out..lol kathy
DragonSlayer1500 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 I go shopping with my grandma on occasion. She's not slow at all though.
shopping mom Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 We used to take my grandmother shopping all the time before she passed away....yea it was a pain going so slow and having to pull the wheel chair in and out and squeeze it through the aisles, but I would give ANYTHING to go shopping with her just one more time! I use to take my grandma Christmas shopping, then I did her shopping for her. This will be our first Christmas without her. I am sure there will be a few tears along with all the fun. If you still have a grandma enjoy any time you have together, you won't wish you had done less with her when she is gone.
Jenniferharrison82 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Me and my grandma went bf shopping since I was 12. I moved out of state though.
cami_reardon Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 My "Grandma" is my mom. Okay, that sounds really funky when I put it down in writing. She raised me from the time I was 6 weeks old. We go shopping all the time together (wheelchair and all) but not on BF. She can't handle those crowds, I can't handle the wheelchair and my purchases and lifting her in and out all the time. So she just makes her list and sends her money with me. She absolutely WON'T miss the deals, but understands that I cannot physically take her on that day.
groverbill Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 LOL..I take "grandma" shopping every weekend..My wife and I are both grandparents,(we've both been married before) and we're always out and about on the weekends with the teenage grandkids..We're also both only in our 50's. :yelclap: :gd_dollar :grandpa:
timbermommy Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 my nana isnt old yet lol and shes a fast paced mean ole broad.. i love to shop with her..shes the only woman i know who can go into a store and they pay her to take the merchandise!! ( its honestly happened twice)

I agree with that, I wish sooo bad i go back in time and spend more time with her! The first Christmas was pretty rough without her mainly bc she had passed away in Sept and it was still so new to us....even 3 years later its still hard to do!
treasure60 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I live to far away to take my Nana...but my she goes with my mom often. She is 86 and still drives! She moves faster than me at times.
Gloey Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I may be a grandma but I'm pretty "hip." I'm sure my granddaughter loves to shop with me cause she always gets whatever her little heart desires. My favorite place to take her is the Disney Store. My son gets sooo irritated with me cause I can spend hours in there. He literally has to drag me out. He tells her no and I turn around and buy it! But its fun.
