2chia
I am just curious. Any of you who know a relative or friend who is a Anti-Black Friday person ( and this doesn't include anyone who has no budget problem)? What made them a Anti-Black Friday person ? Did they change their way after you KINDLY explain to them how they can get their number #1 wanted item on a cheaper price ? If Scrooge is to Xmas . I wonder what would be that version of person except for Black Friday be named ? I once had a coworker who bought a group deal tix for a party of 10 to a cocktail party inlcude appertizer and 2 drinks and had let that deal gone by. She was a single mom in varies stage of her life and do have a budget ... My other friend and I don't understand her and probably never will. She was definately a Anti Black Friday person . No interest in the ad, commercial .... etc. For sure, I don't understand how anyone would be a Anti-Black Friday person.... but then this is just me... Iliveforblckfri
I have people at work who think I am crazy, but want me to help them get some stuff. I have my mom who always felt she should watch the grandchildren so I could go shopping, no way she wanted to go. I have a brother in law who will always call about 6:30 am with an emergency that his wife needs to help him with. I also have a group of people that will hang out with me no matter what. They laugh when we meet others from my area while we are shopping. Darla
starbeck96
My husband..lol... He is not against me going BF shopping though. He went last year and said it was his first and last year and then he added "there are some crazy people shopping today"...lol.
Kim3498
Oh, yes. My sis in law. She lives about 4 hours away and they always come in for Thanksgiving, and of course MIL drags her along with us. She was sitting in the floor sleeping in a corner at Wally World last year while we waited in line for one of the deals. People were looking at her like she was crazy. It was hilarious . She thinks were nuts! I tell her shes the crazy one. Why go if she hates it that bad and then not try to get the deals. Of course, we do try to grab things she says she might like to have...... Elmck
DH has never gone. When the kids were younger he kept them home. But most are grown and love to go and my DD9 went last and loved it. She was really fun to have along. (with our large family spread out through different stores I am able to shop for her too). My co workers have no desire to go and they tease me about memorizing the ads but they give me money so I can pick up stuff for them (if possible) My MIL always ask if there is anything on the kids list that I can pick up for her too. She is only 5 so it will be at least another 3-5 years, depending on her maturity. We live in a small town and so far they've only had one fight and it was over towels (where I never go, even though I need some new ones). My boys are 14 and have no desire to go at all. I told them, depending on what everyone wants this year, that they may have to help.. Last year was my husband's first year and he says it was his last, but I know that if the kids want something that we can save lots of money on, he will go again to help out. My daughter would stay with my parents since my mom is not able to go out anymore. If there is something my mom wants, then I try to pick it up for her if possible. I am going to try to talk my sister into going this year, but I doubt she will since she hates crowds.

mgmckny
My husband, although with online shopping he is not so bad. When Henry was about 2 (he's almost 19) I sent Jeff to Toysrus for a workbench that was on the doorbusters. The women beat him up so badly he said never again (he did get the doorbuster though). Turtle Mommy
My husbands stepmom. She is just anti black Friday because she has never tried it. She doesn't like new things. Dh is 38 and she has had the same sweaters and Christmas tree as long as he can remember(he was 5yrs old when she married his dad)I am not kidding you..most of the green is off the tree and old tinsel is left! Sorry for the rant! LOL!!!

santaclaus
My son. He had never been shopping on Black Friday before and decided to take on Walmart. He said women were fighting over towels and some kind of stick vacuum they had on sale. If I had known he was going shopping, I would have got him to go with me and his dad. The Walmart we go to is one of the more calmer ones.
momof3luvs1
I dont really know any antiblack Friday people but my bff and I are the only ones I know that actually go to do it..However my sister is always anticommercial anything so Black Friday is insane to her. mcwalker
My parents were always anti-commercialism on the Thanksgiving weekend, so I didn't get into Black Friday until 2006 (when I was in my late 40s). I don't think that stores should open until at least midnight (or later) after Thanksgiving (and I know that a lot of others agree with me), so that makes me "anti-Black-Thursday." bigjimslade
When I started on Black Friday my parents thought I was crazy for standing in line and such. When I started to buy camping stuff for BF they thought i was even more crazy. They dont think I am crazy anymore since they have learned they get good gifts out of it. So they support me and bring my group turkey dinner out.

Pnambic
I am firmly a Black Friday Online shopper. Or if I can get a store to honor a Black Friday price, I may buy the item a few days early and then saunter into the store later in the day on Friday to get a price adjustment - used to do that at Circuit City. All the aggressive people fighting and cutting in line and everything has just turned me off. Decided not to expose myself to it as it puts me in a bad mood. Tried a WalMart Black Friday up in Indiana one time 7 or 8 years ago and I felt like Simba in that wildebeest stampede...
josetann
I think I may have turned anti Black-Friday. I don't think I went the past three years at all (my wife did two years ago). I realized I was a bit too much into it when I was contemplating having Thanksgiving dinner in the parking lot of Best Buy. Not worth it.
txgurl
My hubby, although I think it has something to do with him not only working every black friday but also in retail....as a manager. My 11 y/o expressed interest in wanting to come this year but he's a bit scrawny and not all that aggressive so I'm debating on taking him, I don't want to spend my bf in jail because someone pushed and/or hurt him for a 5 dollar dvd!
