sjborak Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Last year I fought with bitchy women at kohls for the leapster and lost. They gave me a raincheck for the bf price. Does walmart or any of the other stores for that matter give rainchecks?
biomajor Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Wal Mart does not give rainchecks. I don't know about rainchecks at Kmart or Target or BB or any of the others on BF
bayhaysay Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Not that I know of and I know for sure they don't on BF. Hence, the term "Doorbuster". You gotta be there to get them.
melrose6 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Target gave rainchecks last year on dvds that I know of but Wal-Mart does not.
leefamily23 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I've gotten rainchecks at Target on BF multiple times. The items have always been back in stock within 2 or 3 weeks too. Figure it's 3rd on my list. So, I'll be doing that w/ the Family Guy DVD's too this year.
BladedThoth Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 RadioShack does not. However, watch the next few weeks, because the distribution chain ALWAYS forgets to ship a good number of some items or thinks we don't have room for 'em. If they come in, usually they come in at the BF price.
Guest all2tired Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 It would be nice if they did give rain checks though
djellis Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 We can't give rainchecks on doorbusters because many of them are items that we do not carry everyday so we will not get more of them in later.
venerdinero Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I have never seen rainchecks on "doorbuster" items or other "limited quantity" items. There are sometimes rainchecks available for other items on sale for Friday only. Has anyone else had problems with Walmart and rainchecks on regular (not BF) sales items? I've heard a few people tell me that the CSR Associates and Managers refused to give rainchecks even though it's supposedly Walmart policy to issue them. One store supposedly said they didn't even have a raincheck form to use!
WELUVKDS79 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Nope, not sure if anyone cares but Micheals does...I am a scrapbooking junkie:)

Yes, it is policy to issue them, but we have all sorts of problems between rainchecks and promises to hold items and so on, that we simply refuse any request of this nature.

Do you have a Dollar Tree store near you? Ours started having alot of scrapbooking stuff. I don't do it, but if I did, there is so much cool stuff there now.
Guest general41391 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I know that BEST BUY does not give rain checks either.

Just to be sure we are on the same page here, your WM never does rainchecks - ever - not even during the rest of the year, right? Even though WM's policy says it will issue rainchecks, right? That's sliding down into BB territory - any deals on waders? :runaway:
best4less Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 My Target wouldn't even give out rainchecks last year. Thought it was just because it was BF but now I am reading others have gotten rainchecks from them. Weird. Guess my Target just stinks! lol

As far as I concerned, rainchecks are pointless at WalMart. You don't need a ticket to guarantee a price. Our prices don't fluctuate much, and we don't do sales like other stores (percents off, etc.). If something goes on rollback or reduced, that's the price it's going to be until it's either clearanced or marked down again. How many stores would actually offer rainchecks for limited supply/special buys anyway?
Mommie2one Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I wish. Of course that would make BF too easy. I think EVERYONE should have to freeze too in line! lol

I think it was for a CD or DVD or a game that had a lower price for the first week or two. By the time they got it back in stock, the price had gone back up. I think that I suggested that they PM at BB, but I don't exactly remember. As for limited supply or special buys- you might be surprised & it all depends on the ads - the is in the !
Princess7915 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I worked at TRU a few years ago at Christmas (that was stupid) and I know we did not honor any rainchecks or hold item's on BF. This was the year Tickle me Elmo was popular and everyone wanted rainchecks, and they were MAD when we wouldn't give them. If someone was really nasty, we would give them one for after Christmas to bring in.
