sperdue Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I'm sure lots of us work at places we have an employee discount since we LOVE to shop so much. I work at a tv shopping network and we have great stuff, but I always feel kind of cheap when I give stuff I've gotten on a great discount as a gift. Am I being silly?
eve Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Not at all a bad idea AS long as you got it for that person and not becouse you got it cheap
TBA Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 wouldn't think twice about using the discount as long as it's something that would give them anyway. If you feel too bad about the discount you can use the money saved for another gift on that person. We've got the ability to get some things on wholesale we'll definetly be using some of those for gifts for people who'd we would have given that kind of gift to anyways. Just our 2 cents worth
ryka Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 My mom just started working at TRU and I will be using her discount when I shop there.
alimfp Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I see nothing wrong with using the discount. I mean, why not? It doesn't make the value of the item any cheaper itself. :)
gisellerol Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 WHY NOT THAT IS A GREAT IDEA USE IT!!!!!!
best4less Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 wouldn't think twice about using the discount as long as it's something that would give them anyway. Exactly how I feel about it too :)
nellyhill Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I have no problams using a discount. Its no different then buying something on sale.
saraczek Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 If I had a job where I got a discount, I would have no problem using it to buy something for someone if it's what they wanted in the first place. Don't feel silly at all.
BrandyJervas Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I think it's fine I'd use it. I get a lot of things on clearance so I can buy more.
WELUVKDS79 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Just be careful because some people in your life might get offended you got something cheaper...I know it's messed up because its supposed to be a gift but, that is the way people are...
cami_reardon Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I no longer work for a company that sells retail items, but when I did, I bought a LOT of my presents from them. The people got things they enjoyed and I saved some money. I do not see any downfalls to that.
erh12275 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I'd do it if we had one. Hubby works for a local store and the school...no discounts from either.
Jenniferharrison82 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I see nothing wrong with using the discount. I mean, why not? It doesn't make the value of the item any cheaper itself. :)exactly nothing wrong with getting a better price on a gift
