stacyk9 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) I'm not sure what they were called last year, but I remember Lowe's would put up an item and you had to be the first of so many to respond with your e-mail and then they would send you a confirmation if you received the deal. I got a great tool set for my dh last year. Anybody know if they'll be doing it this year? It was a lot of fun. Edited October 29, 2011 by freesia39 thread merge, minor title edit
tinkrbel Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 not heard about it but then again I'm not sure if I'm still "liking" them on Facebook:P
bigjimslade Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I think it is too early. If they do it again this year they might announce it during the first 2 weeks of Nov

It was a lot of fun.I remember an equal number of folks who were upset because some people seemed to score multiple deals and others came up empty. It might be wise for them to put participation limits to encourage fairness this year.
jmecherul Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 i do not see the advertisement yet, but it seems that lowes is already shipping stuff in for bf. was perusing today and saw a pallet of porter-cable cordless tool combo kit. they are doing a bunch of moving around, so it's getting close.
shaneberry21 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Lowes has the space-saving page up for the BF Ad. Countdown posted there now. EDIT...Forgot the Link! http://www.lowes.com/cd_Black+Friday_584207998_%20?storeId=10151&N=0&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&UserSearch=black+friday+ad&rpp=24
riven3d Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 hmm, that countdown ends at 1am EST, wondering if that is telling us something about their opening time?
bigjimslade Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 It wont surprise me for a early opening. Everyone else is.
shaneberry21 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Lowes sent me an email, telling me to "Like" them on Facebook, for a sneak peak at their BF ad...I don't have Facebook, anyone want to give it a try and report back???
bigjimslade Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I just "liked" them. They have this posted which was posted 13 hours ago.Get the thrill of the battle without the fight on Black Friday. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to get a glimpse of Black Friday offers!
pudd75 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I got an email from Lowe's saying that I clicked "Like" on their FB page I could get a sneak peek of some BF items. I clicked like and didn't see anything. Was anyone able to see these items?
stacyk9 Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 I just checked and didn't see anything yet, either.
arci122 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 they had it on their site the other day.....they want us to get ready for this years fun events.....hope it comes soon.
arci122 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 On their FB page you can play a Black Friday showdown game. I think the items in the game are from their ad and what their prices are going to be.
allshoppedout Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Hmmm I already like them, can't play game, but see where it says showdown ...
allshoppedout Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 oh look what they just posted: The tab with the game is on the left side of the page and you do have to 'Like' our page in order to play the game. You also have to have your cookies enabled to play. We are working to make sure you can play Throwdown. Please, let us know what browser you're using if you're having any issues.
allshoppedout Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Well that was fun! I just did it! tab is on the LEFT says BF throwdown
Whooo Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I played last night as well, but didn't think to write down the items with the prices. Only one I remember is the 6' Wagner fiberglass ladder for $19.
Brad Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 For those who don't want to waste time playing their little Facebook game, here you go: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/BlackFridaySales/Store/Lowes Thanks to GD visitor Justin for saving everyone the hassle
flyjar Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Thanks Justin, can we have the pdf scan so I can save it?
Brad Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Thanks Justin, can we have the pdf scan so I can save it?There really isn't a PDF as these were just pics taken off their Facebook game. We'll have the "real" ad with a PDF soon enough.
flyjar Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Oh yeah, duh. I didn't realize he was taking pictures of the Facebook pages.
1whodatdare Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Are you sure this is the black friday stuff? I thought is was same type of thing from last year where only certain people would get those deals. Isn't this what this is referring to? HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED: To play the game, select the product you think will be most popular according to all the eligible sweepstakes entrants ("Entrant Popular Vote") in each of the thirty-one (31) product matchups ("Matchup(s)"). Once the sweepstakes ends, Ralph, Lowe's third party administrator ("Bracket Administrator") will tally the total votes received for each product in each Matchup from all eligible entries to determine the final product bracket based on Entrant Popular Vote. Points will then be calculated and tallied for each eligible sweepstakes entry by Bracket Administrator. For each correct product selection in each product Matchup, 2 points will be awarded in the First Round, 4 points in the Second Round, 6 points in the Third Round, 8 points in the Semi-Final and 10 points in the Final Round. Maybe we're talking two different games.
tinkrbel Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 at the bottom of game it said valid from 12:01 11/24
bigjimslade Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 The Char-Griller Duo Gas and Charcoal Grill is not a good deal. There is no smoker box on the side. It is around $80 extra and the metal is not strong on the grill. If you are in the market for a good grill I would suggest the Triton at Academy Sports. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_242959_-1?N=77985508 It comes with a smoker box and everything. I have had the grill for 2 months and love it.
BFQueenofNY Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I played. My final was the convection oven for $39
allshoppedout Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 My final was the DYSON, I didn't realize it'd end up like that, or maybe I'd have thought more, it is expensive, but not THAT expensive, maybe something like the charcoal grill would be the most selected choice...oh well...they said it is whomever has the MOST answers right, you really think they'll calculate that fairly? Or just pick someone LOL... ANd what do we win again? all the prizes, or just the ones we wanted??
tinkrbel Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 it was posted on site..there's so many $100(i think) gc then something else then some number of people win all 32 things.
