I have been looking every where to see how many lights (this string kind, 100 per box) for our 7" tree. I thought it used to be on the boxes, if you have this size tree, you will need this many lights.

Does anyone know, I need to buy more, but have NO clue how many to buy and I want to make sure I get enough when I get them.

The tree is 7" and pretty full.

Thanks! :2wiggle:

You will need 1 string of 100 lights per foot of tree, i.e.: a 6' tree needs 6 strings of 100 lights-600 lights all together! This is the standard rule of thumb.

I like a lot of lights on my tree but I think you should have at least 700 lights on your size tree

100 lights per foot is the bare minumim, IMO. Our tree is 8 1/2 or 9 feet and I usually have 15 or more 100 light strands on it each year. :holiday07

I think so too. Seems like if you don't use at least 100 per foot the tree looks empty...or plain.

I have a pre-lit so I don't add any lights to the tree but between the outside of the house, mantles, and walkways, I usually use about 40-50 100light strings. But I like alot of lights.lol

Past few years we invested in a multi-colored prelit tree in which I add 2 boxes of white lights to and actually weave the lights closer to the inside so that they will illuminate the ornaments that normally dont get seen. I use to do it when we had real or not prelit. Makes the tree kinda come awake because none of the white lights are on the outside.
