jennsahm Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I have pretty much had to move on to other sites this year. I just can't wait and hope the things that I am hoping to get will turn up on sale on Amazon. I cleaned up on that site last year and just love them, but this Christmas season I have NOT been impressed. I have found better toy and game deals elsewhere!
tinkrbel Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Amazon has been pretty disappointing for me too this year but I just thought it was cause we don't really need anything.
Kayshar13 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 im glad im not alone, i literally have done 99% of my Christmas shopping on Amazon for the past 3-4 years. I thought maybe i was jumping the gun but i checked all my old orders and i was getting awesome, awesome deals by now. everything in my cart keeps going UP. I remember the past years you almost couldnt even keep up with the amazon deals thread it was constant deals. I guess i better open my eyes and start shopping elsewhere!!
Buckeye Shopper Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I agree, I'm so disappointed with amazon this year. I have bought a video game, and a movie, that's it. So unlike previous years.
chefpatty Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 So where are you finding better deals? (i'm disappointed also)
tinkrbel Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 toys I got mostly at Target over summer/January clearance bought one each at penneys and kohls on BF. Blurays I've pretty much stayed away from aside from a handful at amazon and a few each at target and BB. I had a few amazon deliveries a day last year starting week before BF and this year maybe 10 total from Amazon.I did get a good deal on a GPS with lifetime maps and traffic though.
jennsahm Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I have found some great toy deals at Mattel. No tax, free shipping during some sales, and a good percentage off helps there. Was able to pick up a fair amount of things on Black Friday. Toys R US has had comparable game deals to Amazon. Best Buy has also had some great game deals as well. Much better than in years past. I usually just start down my list for an item and check the price at the major retailers and choose who I am buying from that way. Takes a bit longer but this year seems to be the year of "shopping around". Also by reading the forums here! :)
Buckeye Shopper Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I've done alot of my toy shopping at Meijer this year. I know alot of people don't have Meijers, but their sales have been pretty decent.
lmitchem Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Dear Amazon....you are killing me. Where are all those wonderful toy sales that we all have been spoiled by? I sit all day and check your site and my heart is breaking. Can you hear me? Please let us feel your love by posting them again. I will sit and wait for you. Please don't let me down. I hope we aren't breaking up.
savaladez Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I think Amazon has to make up the loses on the Kindle Fire being sold below cost
tazolover Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I can't believe that the deals haven't started yet. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but it's already the 10th. . . Amazon, what is going on?
amandablack364 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Yes... I haven't bought much for my kids... Was waiting for the good sale. I am going to be annoyed if I have to go to TRU this week!
Kayshar13 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Dont give up guys, i am seeming to find some great deals this morning, almost anything Disney cars is marked down and as im looking through those i am finding other things, it seems like they might be starting!! I hope!!
sweetdiggity Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 The Nerf double clip clip system for $5.99 is awesome! Thanks for posting, noehlp! My brother just got two Nerf guns and will be needing extra darts for sure. They're so expensive in stores!
allshoppedout Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 I see so many happy nappers on sale, i really want PENGUIN one for my new nephew. That's our hockey team and the arena they used to play in (up until last year) LOOKED like an igloo and everyone referred to it as THE IGLOO for decades... Penguin still 15.99 or higher....
Deal Grabber Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Iwanna know where the Star Wars legos sales are?I always buy my DS sets from Amazon and nothing this year.Sad!!!.he likes those 1000 piece ones but i didnt want to pay over $100 for them.
amood06 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Ditto on the dissapointment from amazon. I really didn't do any toy shopping with them, but they were good for movies and video games. Toys R Us got a lot of my online business using shoprunner (free ship, no minimum). I kept waiting for Amazon to price match toys that were on sale from other sites, but they never did. I'm done now, so I might be a little mad if they started having good deals with such short notice.
KBsDarling Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 i did just place orders but we are prime so I use it to send nieces/nephews gifts easily but I agree I kept waiting for something GREAT priced but just too close now to keep waiting and had to go ahead and pick some things
noehlp Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 So, I posted a lot of deals tonight. You guys let me know, any good? I can keep digging, just not sure if it's helping. Oh, and check your carts tonight for price drops.
tinkrbel Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 the deals are great and looks like Amazon is finally picking up..maybe ppl can stock up for next year? I'm all toyed out unless barbie outfits show up or a mulan costume for less than $15
bluesky225 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Yeah, I was just thinking that you got quite a few good deals up tonight, noehlp! I was a little late to get the Lego Atlantis set for $10.99 (went up to $14.99-Reg $30), but that was a really great deal! (still isn't bad at all) Legos are about the only thing my son wants this year, so I've been buying lots of those! I also bought some of the baby toys that you all have posted in that thread for my baby nephew and another family we were helping out a little. Thanks for posting lots of deals in there today (and throughout the season)!
noehlp Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Just started a NEW thread for the Amazon Toy deals - right here: Amazon Toy Clearance Sale Thread - Post Deals Here! (New thread!) Please continue to keep all discussion/comments/questions in THIS thread. Thank you!
Cheapola Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I bought the Loopz game for $5... I have no need for it.. Plus it was only $5 shipped via Prime Trial.. Maybe I could use it for the tree at work.. I already have two items from there.. Last year I did 5 (I think.. or 6).. Starting early.. My kids get enough.. Might as well give some unfortunate children a happy(er) xmas...

texaspixie Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Looks like last year the deals didn't start until December 18th. I hope they come sooner this year.
