VERY nice deal...but wow...I don't think I could ever stomach working with DELL again.....it's lunacy..lol. Between the customer service rep and the support technician..and the never ending wait for over an hour to get a person.....I really don't think I can do that again...BUT **groan** I wish that was a gret deal somewhere else.

I'll keep looking. I had a laptop.....IBM...that finally went kaputz..lol..so I am in the market for a very cheap laptop for me.

Compare the specs.

Dell:

Celeron M 360 Processor @ 1.4Ghz

WalMart:

AMD Sempron 2600+ @ 1.6Ghz (AMD is better than Intel anyday IMO)

Dell:

No Wireless

WalMart:

802.11G Built In

Dell:

Requires sending in a rebate

WalMart:

No Rebate

Dell:

$49 shipping

WalMart:

Sales Tax

So if you are willing to stand in line at WalMart you will probably end up saving $75 to $100 plus you will be getting a faster machine (I couldn't upgrade the processor on the Dell machine to compare equivelent specs, but I did add the wireless card)

I had a question regarding the HP laptop at WalMart and the Dell notebook with the rebates. the Dell notebook is a celeron, what is the HP at WalMart? I prefer Centrino but they usually cost more than Celeron. Does anybody know?

The $398 HP laptop specs can be found here.

You won't find a Pentium-M (Centrino) in this price range, that would be closer to $699.

Your link there comes up with, "We Need to Adjust your order", because that link has expired. Thus my question. I am looking in the current laptop thread, but so far have not seen anything regarding Dell.

Dell won't be in that thread, but there are lots of laptops available in the $400 range on Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving). Check out the comments to see which ones are good deals, and which ones are not as good.
