ebony0421 Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I want to get DH the thingy that records dvd's. I hope I am saying that correct. :g_thumble
pinkroses4mommy Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I don't know if they still have them or not, but I got a dvd recorder at Bi-lo a couple of months ago for $59.99 with my bonus card. It's a Cyber Home brand, and I don't know anything about that brand, but I figured I'd try it. So far, so good.
bytch_mynickname Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 DVD burner. Depends on if she wants one that works through the computer or a standalone that works like a vcr. In my experience, the computer ones are called dvd burners but the standalones are called dvd recorders (work like a vcr). That is how I have seen them referred to in the past anyhow. I have a dvd burner now and am planning on getting a dvd recorder on BF from sears or walmart (or maybe both?)
elena_398 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I have the DVD burner that can copy dvds. I was thinking thats what they meant
ebony0421 Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 I want Dh to make copies of dvd's. If I get a movie from someone and he wants a copy of it, we need a ________? I don't want to buy the wrong thing, so educate me please. Thanks.
elena_398 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 DVD burner if you plan to copy DVDs through the computer. You'll need the software to burn movies though. There are still some free sites left, but most make you pay a monthly to yearly fee to use it.
babsmac Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Pinkroses, What is Bi-lo? I am interested in getting a DVD recorder too. I was going to get the Walmart one, but the price you quoted was even better. Do you have a link? Babs
pinkroses4mommy Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Bi-lo is a grocery store. I couldn't believe they had them there. Ours just closed down last week, but they have a web site Bi-lo.com I don't know if you can buy on-line from their site, but you could check it out.
kmsimpson Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 For those looking at DVRs, I highly suggest one of the Panasonics with a built in hard drive. I got one on eBay last year, and we love it!! It allows you to copy VCR tapes if you have a VCR player still, and tapes you want to copy.

That would be great!
rockpzazz Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Yeah, I'm not sure what way to go with this, a burner or a recorder. I want to copy old tapes, but it would be cheaper to buy a burner and get attachments.
