I am looking at mainly family plans, and would like to compare. Right now, I feel like I am paying an arm/leg just for 2 lines:

*data service for one line

*1500 shared minutes

*unlimited text

*unlimited mobile-to-mobile (same carrier)

*unlimited nights/weekends (after 9 p.m. on weekdays)

*family plan which includes me being able to restrict 2nd lines time to receive/send calls/text and downloads as well as internet

*insurance for both phones ($10/mo)

For the above, I pay...$145/month...this already includes a 11% discount. Now I need to hear from others...and I would like to know if we have ability to negotiate and perhaps hear stories of what you did to haggle your price down.

Looking to get both lines on data plan but no way, no how am I adding to the expense I already have!

do you need 1500 of shared minutes, we have 5 people on a plan with 700 mins and we use less than 100 every month. Everyone we know is on Verizon (one of only two carriers here) and we don't carry any insurance

I know you say you like to compare prices to another family plan but what happen if getting a single account and cheaper ? Would that help ? If you only have 2 person ( I am just guess from that you say 2 lines). I am on Boost ( I love love !! I no longer has to have contract or that I get hit extra for data plan) and they only offer individual plan but it is a pay as you go $50 per month , after 6 the 7th they shrink by $5 . I pay my with insurance that is like $5 more. Unlimited talk/data/texting. Only bad thing is that you buy your own phone the phone selection is sort of limited.

I have seen HSN sell phones that include Boost service. How is the service? Have you had any problems? The $50 is such a great deal. Thank you for any info.

No problem but make sure your area is covered under their coverage. And, their customer service can sometimes take longer to get to because you have to go through sprint. Sprint owns Boost. I have no problem with the signal . My work area used to have bad signal from AT&T and so does at home. $50 is a great deal because it includeds everything..

Thank you! I wondered about bad signals. It seems like everything is Verizon in my area.

It really does seem high to me. I have ATT and 4 lines, 3 smartphones and 1 regular and only pay $190 a month, but I only have 700 minutes a month. We have never gone over except during my daughter's christmas break last year and then we just used some of our 3000 rollover minutes.

we are needed to analyze our phone bill too..

We use AtnT and will need 2 smartphones with data, 2 basic phones with NO TEXT/DATA for kids and 2 unlimited data cards

Right now we pay almost $200 for 2 phones and a data card...I just thought that was standard LOL

Does ATnT do mobile to mobile like Alltel? If so we could do a LOW minute plan.....Our alltel got bought out from AtnT so they are new to me. We are not under any contracts so I am about ready to just end service and start all over ANYWHERE

Yes, ATT does mobile to mobile. You can pay a little more and have it start earlier, too, but 9 works fine for me. I have a 21 year old, and a 19 year old on my plan and we are usually under :)

That is ridiculously high. I have Verizon with 4 lines, and have 1000 minutes, with 10 friends and family and everything else on your plan except data and insurance and it is only $100.00 a month, . Of course, we always call one another from cell phones using mobile to mobile so we don't go over on minutes. We had our plan with Alltel when Verizon bought it out. I have not renewed my contract (even though Verizon originally told me I would have too) once Alltel was bought out. I said Ok, let's just go ahead and cancel my service. They backed down real quick and even gave me 2 months for free.

Ours is $299 at Verizon, but thats 5 lines, 4 with data, 4 with a $20 text package, insurance on 4 smartphones, 900 anytime, free nights/weekends, free m2m, 10 friends and family numbers.
