pmdemey Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 This will be the first year I go to the mall on BF. Just wondering if they are as busy or even open that early.
Gporter34 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I have never been to a mall on BF but after the nightmare I had about it, I doubt I ever go. I dreamt that mom, kids, and I were running through the mall and could only see brick walls, no stores. When we finally found the stores, everything was gone.lol No way, I take that as a sign.lol
bayhaysay Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 We usually go to other places first and don't get to the mall until 9-10am, so the doorbusters there are really winding down by then. But........it is still jam packed at that hour. If sears has a good ad we might try and brave the mall first this year, but it is a scary thought.
Kandy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I went last year to the mall for the first time.. just be prepared . Our KB toys is in the mall there were lined up from inside midways the store, to the outside doors...(needless to say I didnt' go into Kb's. I did Jc Penny's, & Mcrae's then CC then WM
Steakgoddess Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I hit a toy store( was only open for that specific season) and a jewelry store one BF in a mall. It was great. I was in and out. No problems.
phins_jazy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 oy! I remember 2 or 3 black fridays ago. The mall opened at 6am. I had my oldest with us at the time in her stroller. People were sprinting through the mall! The stroller got hit a number of times. I haven't been back to the mall since.

AuntJamelle Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 There is no way I would go anywhere near our mall on BF - the traffic is backed up for miles! Maybe if you went super early it would be better - but when you try to leave - look out! I am very thankful to have stores on my side of town that I can go to instead - they will still be busy - but hopefully not the insanity I've seen up on Grape Road.
ryka Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 There are 2 KBs here in the mall so that normally is my first stop on BF. Since there are 2 it really isn't that bad. They do open early just for this. Now that they finally have a walmart opened by me I am not sure where to go first. I am waiting to see KBs ad.
best4less Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I hit the mall last BF. Crowded doesn't even begin to describe it! That said, I would do it again. I'm sick like that LOL
Guest Deals4Me Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I havent been in a mall, except for the one out here in Bourbonnais on BF, and it was around 2pm,and wasnt that bad...still busy, but not bad.
ChicagoCubs2000 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 My sister and I went to the mall last year, hoping to stop at Sears for a free gift card. All I can say is that it was a Horrible idea! :) We stood in line for over an hour (outside) and then when they let us in, we found out that they had let the people waiting inside the mall in first. There was a huge crowd of people fighting over the 100 gift cards they had and we couldn't get close enough. And everyone was pushing and shoving and fighting, so we figured it wasn't worth getting hurt over 10 dollars. People were knocking over displays, kids were screaming...it wasn't a pretty sight. We went to other stores in the mall but didn't really find anything special. Hopefully this year will be better. Kristen
pmdemey Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 All of this is really helpful, also entertaining lol
holly2hottie Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I go to the mall every year, usually between 7am and 9am and it is never busy...it's great, everyone is usually still at Target and Walmart. It gets busier after that.
mommyz Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 We've hit the dept stores in the mall that have separate entrances...dh stood in line at KB and I went to Kohl's, Sears and Hecht's and he was still there. KB is off our list this yr! The line was ridiculous.
SuperMommy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 This will be the first year I go to the mall on BF. Just wondering if they are as busy or even open that early.Malls can be pretty crowded around here. We usually hit the mall, Circuit City, and TRU first. (they are all right next to each other)
JazzMama Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I did go the mall last year to go to KB Toys. Luckily, I didn't have to stand outside because they had two lines going. However, I will not do this again since everyone's told me about their ad being online! Our mall has alot of different entrances, so you can find the stores just fine. The only ones that actually have the early-bird BF sales are Sears (2 entrances), JC Penney's (2 entrances) and KB Toys (1 entrance). We also ran in Sears after we finished our shopping @ KB, but it was wall-to-wall people, so we got what was necessary and left.
freesia39 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 my favorite mall back home is crowded on a regular weekend, bf is going to be nuts. but i'll probably be there later in the day to just clothes shop.
elena_398 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 KB Toys is in my mall. Thats the first store to open. So im usually out of there by the time normal sales day is starting.
oldandintheway Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 The malls are normally crazy all day long here on BF.
darkkan Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 We get there really early to get the free snowglobes at JcPenney and the Cracker Jack boxes at McRae's. My aunt won a $1000 gift certificate in the cracker jacks one year! I usually get like-25% off or something, but it is still fun to go. Also, most of the other stores are having sales since so many people are in the mall that day. We always hit the mall first, but I am considering going to Walmart to fight for a Cabbage Patch baby for my niece.
