drmy91 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I have alot of gifts to buy for people I know but not well and those that are acquaintances through my husbands work. What are good gifts for those people or a proper amount to spend?
SuperMommy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 We have always considered $20 to be a good amount for people not in the immediate family. If they're people from work that your not close with at all I would go $10-$20. After all, you're just doing it to be nice right? It's the thought that counts.:)
Kandy Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 For Co-Workers I normal fix baked goodies Several like my coconut carmel cream cheese pie- I can make two for about $7.00 so I will give those out. This is where I buy stuff also during the year when I see something for $5-$10 on sale and say , ohhhh.. so/so will love it.
alimfp Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Coworkers and people we are not all that close to, around $10 or so. I agree with SuperMommy, it's more about the thought IMO. :)

angel_parker1999 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Baked goodies always seem to work well. Plus they are fairly inexpensive and can be made ahead of time, and they are easy to have extras around for that forgotton person.
holly2hottie Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I make movie date night in a basket. Get a basket or plastic cute bucket at the dollar store, fill it with two sodas, microwave popcorn, and movie sized candies, add a $5.00 gift card to a movie rental place or a cheap DVD and you're done. Easy and very cheap....people love them. Also good for the people that have everything. You could also include a gift cert to a pizza place.

Gporter34 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Kandy, thanks for the recipe. It looks great. I am going to try it tomorrow.
trolsgirl Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I spend any where from $10 to $25. It depends on the sale price in the end. If I can get it cheap and on sale and the recipient doesn't know then I saved money and made the person happy. For female friends I usually buy lotions and facial products and even samples sized products and make a gift bag or basket. Most women love getting lots of beauty products to try. Sandra
all4linkae Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I don't give gifts to people Im not close to either? They get cards, that's it.
