Brad Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 We are exactly 6 months from Black Friday. And based on how www.officemax.com looks today, expect the pre-Black Friday sales to be even more annoying this year, haha
Princess7915 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Maybe it's just me... but after the last two years of such disappointing ads I just don't know that I'm going to be that excited. I say that now but I'm sure I will be as it gets closer - I hope so anyway.
momof3luvs1 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Im already excited about Black Friday...I cant help it...lol!
tinkrbel Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I agree with the excitement and hope I'll have a job again by then else will have to curb spending loads.
SuggaD Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 not that excited this year. Doubt I'll buy anything. Thinking about taking a cruise or vacay instead. Too many items bought on BF that aren't used are accumulating in our home.

I did order the Dragon dictation for dh, he has a birthday in July and mentioned that he would like that...
HansieDZ Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Im already excited about Black Friday...I cant help it...lol! Me too :)It's not only about the deals, but the season and expectations and all the good feelings that go along with BF!Black Friday is more than a day: it's a WAY ...of living!
stationchief Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Actually, I passed up a neighbor's garage sale just this morning and spotted a Yamaha power generator for sale. First thing that came to my mind: powering a tent on black friday! Good thing it's not payday otherwise I might've bought it.
Needs a deal Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 So I was wondering when do you think that they will open the black Friday section of the site for this year? I can't wait!!!
stationchief Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 The Black Friday section open up whenever good 'ol Brad gives the word. First comes the BF forums, then a month or so later the ads start rollin' in. If memory serves me correctly, which doesn't happen very often, it usually happens around August or so. Still, no one's stoppin' ya from discussin' BF now. Here's hopin' this will be a good BF this year.
tinkrbel Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I'd think sept only cause 1st ad usually rolls around just after my bday-17th october
stationchief Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Brad had a list on the site here somewhere that totaled exactly when each ad came out every year. Dunno what happened to it. I think the ads last year came in unusually late.
stationchief Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Thought you guys banned Walmart from BF years ago.
JohnnyLaRue Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I wonder if the USA economy will be in worse shape than last year at that time. If so will the ads reflect it or will people just stay home?
nat1jen Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Hope that amazon has great prices again on dvd's and cd's. Their prices are usually right in line with BF prices at Target and WalMart. I like shopping at home. :))
Marcster Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Hope that amazon has great prices again on dvd's and cd's. Their prices are usually right in line with BF prices at Target and WalMart. I like shopping at home. :))I'm with you on that. Last year I placed quite a few orders at Amazon and then went to Pep Boys & Lowes (of all places). The poinsettias that I bought at Lowe's for $.99 each for our dealership lasted until mid-May till I quite frankly got sick of looking at them and threw them away! But I have some DVDs from last year and the year before that I have yet to pull out of the shrinkwrap!
pogiporkchop Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 DH is already talking TVs I've got a running list going but think I'll be shopping less overall. Key word being think... DH might actually have a bigger list than me this year.
jenvargas Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I hope to be working full time by next black Friday. That alone is my holiday; )
bigjimslade Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 no matter what the ads are I always have fun during Black Friday season!
Trishy Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I can't wait- I'm so ready. I just hope the ads are better this time around.
pogiporkchop Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 DH has now added a computer to his list... I'm looking forward to the Secret Santas :)
speeddiva Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 I'm not excited about BF, I have a job in retail this year so I'm gonna be stuck at the mall LOL
