floridasun5
I have no problem finding gifts for anyone else in my family but for my parents and grandmother. Both are people that will go out and buy what they want throughout the year, so they dont need anything. They dont really have any hobbies that they enjoy getting gifts for and I'm tired of getting gift certificates. So, give me some ideas. What is everyone buying for their parents/ grandparents? Marcster
http://www.oneshare.com -- Single shares of real stock, in a frame. Definitely a gift they won't already have. I bought my parents stock in United Airlines and my in-laws, Disney. Sign up for their e-news, they have two different stocks on sale each month. But order early, it'll take 6 weeks to procure the stock. Or if you are going to their house for Christmas, you could have a florist prepare the centerpiece (or if you aren't going there, but know they're having people over, you could send a centerpiece through FTD or any of the other online flower places). They do some amazing things with evergreens, holly, candles, etc. For instance:http://images.send.com/106186_big.jpghttp://www.greenwayflowers.com/xmas/lg_crimson.jpg You could also do a "real" decorated evergreen wreath. You can also get 'em delivered (FTD, etc.) -- if you're having it sent, you can send it pre-Christmas, they last a LONG time! We buy one for our house each year, so much nicer than the fake ones. Gporter34
My mom and step dad are suprisingly easy to shop for. I get them something personalized every year with pictures of our families on it. For example, last year my step dad got a calendar with his kids and grankids' pictures on every month. My mom is getting a desk set this year with pictures of my kids on them. outnumbered
I don't shop for my grandparents...my dad usually has a list of things he wants--books, classical music CDs, clothes, whatever. I'll get something from the list for him. My mom sometimes gives me suggestions and sometimes doesn't; for her I usually go with clothes or jewelry. She also likes knick-knacks and books so I've gotten those for her in the past too.
JazzMama
For my grandparents (we have 3 grandmas and 1 grandpa), we usually do gift baskets. For two of the grandmas, they usually get a relaxation gift basket - extra-cushy socks or house shoes, lotion, vitamins, their favorite comfort food (soup mix, chili mix, cookies, chocolate), and a Classic Christmas DVD or CD. For the other grandma, she gets a housekeeping basket that has all kinds of stuff: 409, oven cleaner, detergent, fabric softener, magic erasers, sponges, Swiffer, and a Southern Gospel CD (this is what she has asked for ) The grandpa gets his traditional food gift basket - favorite soda, coffee, tea, flavored popcorn, trail mix, spicy peanuts, cookies, and a Western DVD or Southern Gospel CD. In the past, they have gotten the heated vibrating massage chair things, heated foot bath, electric blankets, and housecoats.

melissainmi
I usually do pictures of my daughter every year for everyone and then I find something they would really enjoy. I have made my mom an altered clipboard with a to-do list on it and will also make one for my sister. My grandma is going to get a Journal Jar with a journal so she can share bits and pieces of her life with us and what it was like to grow up/and be her thru her life. My stepdad usually gets stetson(his fav. cologne). not sure on my grandpa yet, maybe a classical music cd or something.
drmy91
I have gotten the grandmothers sweatshirts or tote bags with the grandkids names on them. This year I am doing calendars with their pics from Snapfish or one of those kind of places. I always think they need something expensive but they would rather have something sentimental. erh12275
I get them a GC to a nice restaurant and put it in a card for both of them.I had thought of this but the nicest place in town here is Dennys. And they are both in their 80's so I don't see them driving the 65 or more miles for another one.

Are there any home repairs that they need done or any appliances that they need to have replaced?

Angelseyes28
The absolute best gift I ever gave to my grandma was an individual picture of both of my kids in it's own recordable picture frame. Then I had my kids record a sweet little message in their respective frames. To this day my grandma says that's the best gift she's ever gotten:heart:
