bayhaysay Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Have you ever asked yourself that question? I have so many times it's not even funny and for some reason I still by stupid/weird things. On BF I always do it because I'm always in such a rush I don't feel like I have time to think over my spontaneous purchases until I get home. And then I ask myself "Why did I buy 4 m&m radios, 5-$2 watches, and a book about all the things you can make with duct tape?"
happysunshine28 Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Did you really buy a duck tape book? I buy like that all the time that might be why I am broke all the time.
pcsoon Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 FAR are what usually get me. Especially networking equipment. Why do I need another router or card when I still have an extra one in a box at home. Because its free...or at least sorta. :)
Gumball Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I've got a bubbling foot spa that I bought on BF last year because at the time my feet were hurting and I kept thinking I'd use it after I got home. Nope, we got home and went to bed. LOL
elena_398 Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Sometimes I get caught up in the excitement and buy something that is a sale item, but I didn't have it on my list nor do I need it. At Kmart the foot spa is one of those items. LOL. I think my husband used this once
Guest Deals4Me Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 RARELY does that happen to us. We're so tight with the money, half the time I have a hard time doling out the cash for diapers cause my son refuses to potty train...err
bayhaysay Posted October 24, 2005 Author Posted October 24, 2005 Did you really buy a duck tape book? I buy like that all the time that might be why I am broke all the time.Yes, I did, and I have still never made anything out of duct tape. I think I got .50 for it in my yard sale last spring.
AuntJamelle Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Oh - every once in a while I will get home and realize that some of the things I thought would be "perfect" as a gift to someone - probably aren't going to be so perfect! But many, many times I will find myself standing in a store - surrounded by items that look like the best deals in the world. Their packaging calls to me - their cleverly arranged aisle cap display beckons me. My heart will be pounding, my adrenaline is pumping and I have to work hard to rein myself in - I must ignore the little voice in my head that is yelling "Spend! Spend! Spend! " and focus on what I really need to buy.
civicracinggirl7 Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 occasionally i'll pick up items because of the price, but if i have to wait in line at the check-out, i usually put them aside since i'm given time to think about it then.
kryss Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Things you can make with Duct tape??? That would be an AWESOME gift for both DH and his father!!! Of course, they would just think it was GREAT...hmmm...I'll have to keep my eyes open... Kriss
lesliepear Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Yes. And it's still sitting in its box in the living room - an office desk chair from Office Depot. I think we've had it for 2 years, unopened!
Guest all2tired Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I do it all the time. Usually it's on toys. I will buy a lot of the toys that seem to be dirt cheap and then I put them away for when one of my kids goes to a BD party. Then I can wrap the gift that I paid maybe $5 for and the parents would know that it had to have cost at least $20.
