Marcster Posted October 24, 2005 Author Posted October 24, 2005 lesliepear - free after rebates are the best! I read somewhere that only 40% of the people out there send their rebates in... That's how they can afford to offer those. I'm definitely in the 40%!
JazzMama Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 The only time is when my mom and I go to Wal-Mart. We have two SuperCenters, so she goes to one and I go the other. That way, we both stand a better chance at getting what we both want. I call her before I go to check-out to see if we have any duplicates. Then, we meet up later at the mall and halve the list.
drmy91 Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 My sisters and I tag team stores, each getting how many all of us need. That way we get more done and on to the next place.
dorkydiva Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 A couple of years ago, when the Fur Real Friends first came and couldn't be found anywhere, I went to KBToys for my mom to try to get one. But of course they were gone by the time I got to where they were!
mama2ella Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 sure...my mil hates shopping so I always pick up a few thingd for her
Jenniferharrison82 Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I would rather pick up items for my family then have some of them there with me...they would drive me insane.
littlezar Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I haven't had anyone ask me to pick up anything specific for them, but I have picked up gifts for my kids for my MIL to give them since she has a hard time getting around.
sbhiggins Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 The only person I've ever bought stuff for is my "little" (25 year old) brother, who would rather shoot himself in the foot than get up at 4 AM to shop. Don't know why I do it, but I guess he's just the baby in the family. It's been easy enough since each time he's just wanted the same things I was already buying for my DH or myself-- one year it was a GBA (at Walmart) the other a Kodak Easysaver digital camera (also at Walmart-- actually, I picked those up for myself, my sister (who, along with my dad always shops with me), and my brother. Now the three of us have to be careful at family outings since we all have the same camera. I'm happy to get stuff for others if its convenient or can be picked up AFTER I get my stuff. But no way I'm going seriously out of the way for someone who can't be bothered to go themselves.
vonnyb Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I usually don't mind picking up things for people especially if I planned to be there anyway.
