So, Magazines.com sent me $10 to spend (or I can cash out, but I'm thinking otherwise). I have 3 days to use this, but I need help! (btw, check your own emails out, you may have gotten one too, just received the email within the hour)

Here's my two choices:

  • Teen Vogue
  • Seventeen

Any opinions on either? This would be for my daughter who is 15 (will be 16 in March). However, age is just a number and her real mentality is more like 12 or 13, literally.

With that said, which would be best for her? I do NOT want a magazine that talks all about sex. Nor one that pushes the 'skinny image' too much. You can even just 'vote' for which you would think is more appropriate for her.

Help please.

We get both - (DD19 & DD16)

We vote a big fat NO to Teen Vogue. It's mostly ads & lots of skinny fashion models. I consider it useless & neither of my girls likes it.

DD16 just said YES to Seventeen, she says there are stories, quizzes, outfit suggestions...

Personally, I'd cash out & buy the magazine through Tanga magazines...we only pay $3-4 for 1 year when it gets offered on their DOD

Totally agree with this! Seventeen is the better magazine (and more appropriate as well).

We get Seventeen. I think they do a great job with promoting a healthy body image. My DD is 12 so I am careful to pre-read and edit (tear out) inappropriate articles....you know...like "how to be a hot kisser" and other articles of a similar nature. Everything else gets a thumbs up!

I don't censor my kids reading material. THey can read it in the library at school . THe girls think it's funny to read stuff about kissing, etc. It's a normal healthy attitude. My daughter read Seventeen for years.

seventeen, my 15 yr old loves it. She likes looking at the fashions they put together, freebies and articles. She had teen vogue and did nothing for her, we even got it free and she didn't want it again
