Angelseyes28
I was just thinking about the cost of gas and started wondering if it will change the way everyone shops. For instance will you to go fewer stores or skip some store all together because it would cost too much in gas to get there?
mrn8
Not at all...I have to work Friday, so I'll be shopping online. It wouldn't affect me, anyway, since I live within a couple of miles of anywhere that I would shop locally.
shanni
It won't affect me personally, but I know it will hurt a lot of people in my neighborhood. We don't have any big retail stores here other than Walmart, everything else is about an hour away. I bet there is going to be a pretty good increase in online sales. RossMAN
Rising gas prices don't really affect us since:We drive a fuel efficient Honda Accord 4 cylinder. We earn 5% cash back with our CitiBank credit card (which has no annual fee).We only drive 6,000 miles per year, roughly 1/3 the annual average.I refuse to buy into the hype that gas is going to skyrocket and everyone will be buying scooters. I live in the country and the closest walmart and target store is about 20 min away. Everything else is 30-45 min. I'm going to try to get several people together to BF shop this year. That way we can carpool.
JazzMama
It won't affect me - Friday's my day off anyway, so instead of spending the gas to drive to work, I'll use it to hit the stores. All of our places are pretty close in proximity.
maccawolf
I just love the words FREE AFTER REBATE so much that it prolly will NOT affect my BF habits...lol Besdies, maybe I don't drive a HONDA, but I DO drive a VW that gets 28 MPG city, so I'm pretty good there.... erh12275
Nope...we moved to a different town this year...and there is NO WalMart here...so I have to drive an hour to even go...but it's a tradition!!

Mike
Its been at a steady increase for the last couple of years out here. It will stay at a certain price point for a few weeks, then increase a little, then stay at that for a few more weeks.
Aaron
It's pushing $3 here, at $2.99 but, no.. I'll still be going out. :)
Guest DigDoug
Nope, it will not. I have decided I am not going to stop living my life because of gas prices. I just started dating a new girl that isn't exactly close, but I'm not letting the price of gas stop me from dating her. I'm just going to eat PB&J during the week. elena_398
It won't effect me at all. All the stores I go to is in the same area. (Mall area about 10 minutes from the house).

chipnme1962
I live only 5 minutes from Super WalMart and 10 minutes from Target, Best Buy and Circuit City. Gasoline is $3.29/gal here and there is plenty of it.
outnumbered
No, because every last store in the area is either practically across the street or all the way across town, and the nearby ones don't have what I need...so if I need toys/clothes/appliances/electronics/*whatever*...I tend to wind up at the mall, at TRU, or Target, and those are all a 20 min to half hour drive. So really that encourages me to do BF because I can get deals on things that one day and not have to make multiple trips down there.
fairydustcrissy
We carpool anyways...meet up at a central location, park 2 cars, take 2 cars. Drop off items as needed. Everyone splits gas, so no one is out a large amount. Works for us!

rdegler
It will affect all of us. Remember all those great deals have to be trucked to the stores. An increase in gas prices will mean an increase in a stores prices. My hope is that loss leaders still bring in enough customers that purchase more items, for the stores to keep up the BF practice. I generally purchase just the lowest priced items and not much more. Sorry my first post sounds so negative, but I am a addicted BF shopper so I will be out and about. Keep up the good work GottaDeal and all posters on hot deals.
Guest Deals4Me
Affect me? Nah. Darren's new job is so close, we can spit on it. Its accross the street. by car, 1 minute... LITTERALLY. So he walks. We will PROBABLY be driving up to his moms...and spending the night. Spendng the night either way. I cant stand my local walmart. So I will go the 45 minutes to there.. diane175
I will still be shopping like there is no end! :) Our gas has gone down from 3.09 to 2.88 in the last 2 days, so hopefully it will be more "normal" by then!
Trishy
It won't have any effect on my shopping. Luckily most of the stores are less then 10 minutes from where I live.
elena_398
As long as the stores on BF give the deals, I will be there.
AuntJamelle
Won't affect my decision to go or my shopping! Prices have come down to about $2.77 here and have remained steady for about a week. I too am hoping that they will come down more before Thanksgiving gets here. All of the stores I plan to hit are in the same area and are only 3 miles or so from my home. I will be going for the great deals, of course, and if those don't appear to be on the horizon than I may not do as much shopping, but I'll still go. maccawolf
Rossman, "I" know it's FAR, but I didn't know if everyone called it that or not, so I spelled it out. No, my car isn't deisel, just standard transmission VW. they always get mileage like that.
