countingcrow Posted November 13, 2010 Share Posted November 13, 2010 I don't personally own it, but have researched and played with it at Best Buy many times. Personally I think Google TV is definitely a vision of the future of television and Internet merging together, but there is a lot of room for growth. It is obvious Google TV was rushed for the holidays, the UI is still a bit bland, the browser isn't very optimized for viewing on a television, and there are still very few apps out there and no network TV support. When Google opens the source and allows developers to get in and build their own Google TV apps, I think Google TV will become as big as Android for cell phones. If you have Dish or Directv, I think that makes the Google TV more valuable, but for people like me without cable or satellite, the box is somewhat useless at this point until I can get more content the legal way.
