mommyof6+1 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 My teenage girls just got new phones and for christmas they want to download games, music etc...but I have several smaller children so I need to physically put something under the tree for them, I would like to make "download certificates" but I am looking for creative and fun ways to wrap them in various shapes sizes any ideas would be appreciated thanks:confused:
tjredsox4 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 buy them a hoodie and put a gift certificate in the pocket
mommyof6+1 Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 buy them a hoodie and put a gift certificate in the pocket I like that idea....they won't even think to look in pockets though haha they won't find them til they actually "wear" the hoodie..thanks
mgmckny Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I buy the really big chocolate bars (hershey, etc) and wrap it with the gift card on it....I've used boxed candy as well. They also make cute gift card type boxes to put things in...
allshoppedout Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I am guessing you have spent a good bit and may not want to spend much more...so...how about buying a Mug with a funny saying/favorite sports team, or a travel mug (keeps your car clean from spills) put the card/certificate in that..and buy their favorite candies, peppermint patties, dove, kisses to cover the card. I always leave the card just 1/16 of inch from top...they'll find it after they eat a kiss or 2. :) I stay away from the holiday mugs usually as kids don't want to use them when Christmas is done... Target had some cute mugs in the Dollar bins in the past--much cuter than my dollar stores would...
dealluvr Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 put them inside a 2 liter soda biottle directions were on here last year
doublehsmom Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I don't really have any cute ideas just wanted to say, make sure that your children know that its in there after a while. DH got some hunting boots from his mom one year and she put a $75 gc to cabelas in the box and he didn't know it till we went to throw the box out it just happen to fall on the ground. It was a good thing that happend or she would have been really upset!
Scanner420 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 They have gift card bags and small boxes for GC's! I like the idea of the Wallet too.

Tara3117 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 My family does a gift card swap. I'm covering a paint can, filling it with Hershey Kisses and tucking the gift card inside. The instructions are here: http://www.designspongeonline.com/2008/09/diy-wednesdays-covered-paint-can.html
jmc500 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I like using old CD cases to put the gift card in.
dealluvr Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 if you could get one in a balloon and blow it up
hopeky94 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 If they don't already have them, get each a phone hard case (or skin) and/or a cute carrying case (like the ones you can clip to a belt) that's the right size for each phone, and stick the gift card in the case and wrap the whole thing! :)
