Mugglemom
I got the hamsters and some accessories ages ago. But I can't find the ball. It looks like a regular ball to me, can you just use a regulare hamster ball? I've googled this and keep getting mixed results. Has anyone actually tried this??? Thanks! Mommax3
You can't use a regular hamster ball. The ball made for zzp's has a little stabilizer piece that clicks in on the inside of the ball. It is the piece that keeps the hamster from rolling over, keeps it upright. If you put a zzp in a regular ball, it is just going to fall over. bargainchaser
I thought the same thing.. but the reviews I have read say that the hamster gets caught up in it and wont work properly!! It sure would be easier to go to Petco then wait in line hoping for one or paying some crazy amount for one!
deelite
Rofol! Iwas gonna ask this exact question but changed my mind and deleted it. I saw ppl selling regular hamster balls as a Zhu Zhu Pets ball on Ebay for 4 times as much as they are in Wal-mart. I was thinking, well gee if that works I'll just go to Wal-mart and pay $6. LOL! Thanks for clearing that one up ....
Lyricsmama
Honestly, I"m sure you could, because the 'stabilizer' that comes with the ball for the zhu zhu's doesn't even work, the hamsters still fall over.
amberjobryant
i have bought regular balls for my kids, and we tryed one out, the hamster does tip over, but I think that on a hard floor it would do ok, we tried it on carpet.....also the ones i bought have a stationary option which i think will work better
