wow! I wish I could prove these were real. I ended up getting the original Chi @ JCP for 69.99 plus tax. I used a 15% survey and $15 off $75 coupon. I would return mine if these were real.

I don't know. If it 'is' a fake, couldn't you just send it back and demand a refund, and claim false advertising?

I'm reading the whole ad, and it's say CHI, with the trademark sign, so I'm reading it believing it is a real one, probably and older model though.

I personally don't want or need a CHI.

Unfortunately there's a big market in fake CHI irons. There was even a little slip in with my first one that had signs for how to spot a fake one. I'm sure in some cases there are resellers who aren't even aware of it.

i have to say im leery. even though i really want a chi when you read the product description there are spelling and grammar errors and broken engligh. "ED" and "ING" left off the end of words as if whoever wrote it...english was not their first language.

No offense to you, but in all honesty, a company who is going to sell a fake will not admit it to you in an email. That is admitting in writing that they are committing fraud and opening them up to law suits.

No offense taken. I just thought if they knew upfront that I would be checking the product over good when it came in, that maybe they'd think twice before shipping a fake. Either way, I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

I ordered this CHI (Pink Dazzle) for my niece the day it was posted (thank you!). I received it in the mail today and figured I'd jump on here and give you all an update. I did the comparison to the e-how link and found:

1. It is a 2 prong plug with adapter. It does have a reset button and has a "Q.C. Passed" sticker.

2. The manual DOES give service contact information for CHI.

3. The LED light does NOT stay red when power is off.

4. There is info embedded on the handle warning of electric shock if submerged in water.

5. It also says "farouk certified" (embedded).

6. There are CHI logos on either side (where springs are)and they have the "r" trademark next to them.

 

Unfortunately, I am not a fan of CHI (I have a Sedu) and cannot compare to an original. I figured since I hadn't seen feedback on here I'd let you all know it seems authentic accept for the "3 prong" plug in the site claims it should have. . maybe someone with a CHI can tell us if theirs is 3-prong?

Sounds exactly like mine (which is authentic). Mine is also 2-prong.

i have 2 chi straightener (one is pink the other is the original) they are both authentic ( i had to send the original in and get a new one cuz i used it so much it broke lol) the original one i have doesn't have 3 prongs but the pink one i have does. some models only have the 2 prongs so i would look at that and compare. hope that helps at least a little

FYI just looked at the site and the pink one has gone up to $42.99 + $8 for shipping. The black one is still $39.99, but shipping went up to $8 also. Still a good deal for what sounds like a real CHI. I am tempted to get one...

This is where i ordered mine a while ago and it is real. i replaced my old baby bliss with this and had a chi before that and my hair will not work without either of these products and it worked extremely well. I thought i ordered the turbo but i ordered the original and it still worked on my hair. i see they still have the black one with free shipping for $38.99 if you search the flat irons.

I'm not sure about this at all. Good feedback is automatically left after 21 days, so the seller appears to have much better feedback than he actually has. The one star feedbacks all mentioned knockoffs.
