Big Wheel

Hi all

One of the items on our "wish list" from the nurses on our pediatric unit at the hospital I work at is for a big wheel. Any leads on a sale or coupon/rebate for these? (I am surprised at how much they cost these days!)

Is the "big wheel" the same as a "Power Wheels"????

 

If so...there are some Power Wheels on sale @ Walmart...

Big Wheel like Tiger lady is showing, but a more traditional version of big wheel. That seat does not look flush to a sturdy base. (These are sick children -- some may be unsteady)

 

We discussed the electric ones vs a big wheel -- aside from charging issues and cost (except for the toddler one) and maybe safety (I.V. lines) we are leaning toward a traditional big wheel. It is good excercise/therapy for the kids because it is kid powered. And both little and bigger kids can use it. (The electric toddler vehicle really can't be used by kids over 3)

Did you see the Disney Cars themed ones on the back of TRU's Wed. 12/09 ad? They are $39.99 and have mixed reviews. The pink one is OOS online today, but it looks like the blue one is available at that price now. Didn't check shipping or instore availability. We had trouble finding a big wheel when we wanted one for our son. We ended up buying a Radio Flyer Twist Trike. It converts easily from a tricycle to a big wheel. It is sturdy and my son loves it. I like that it has rubber on the big front wheel that gives more traction than the old plastic wheel. Amazon has a good price on them.

And thanks to 3wishes too. I am going to try a Zhu zhu run at TRU in the am so I will look at the Disney one then. But I like the rubber wheel on the Twist Trike. And that it converts is an added bonus.

Walmart.com also has the Radio Flyer Big Flyer for a good price. It wouldn't convert to a trike, but looks very sturdy.
