  1. Have to warn people about what has happened to me today at Target...I swear, after the travel swing switch to the bouncer this past spring, I feel like I must have "sucker" stamped across my forehead...

So I check out at target with a bunch of stuff today, and because I have two of my kids with me, I'm not keeping a good eye on the register, as I usually do, since I'm stuck getting my 4 yo under control, and telling him to get his jacket on so we can leave, etc. So about 2 hours after I get home, I finally get the time to go through my bags and put stuff away, and check my receipt...there is a charge for a gift card, of $10...so I'm confused...did I buy something that gave me a gift card? No, $10 was added to my total, not subtracted...did I get a gift card I don't know about--maybe my ds added it to my stuff? Nope, went through all of the bags, no GC...did the cashier add it to my bill and pocket it? YUP...

I called the store and the first guy I talked to in GS told me I'd have to come in and talk to someone...now I'm already pissed this has happened to me, AND I live nearly 40 minutes from the store, AND I JUST got back from the store, AND it's Christmas time! Do I want to go back??? UM, NOOOOOOOO...so now I'm really ticked off, and telling him that I need to talk to someone, because I'm not going to drive all the way there and have someone look at me funny like I'm trying to pull something over on them...so they give me a team leader who I've seen there before, and I explain the whole thing to him, and even tell him that it's possible the cashier pocketed the card...so he takes the info from my receipt, and tells me he needs to look at video, and he'll call me back within an hour...I even asked him, since I had the GC # on the receipt, if they could just deactivate the card, to prove I hadn't taken it. He told me no, that it was a matter they took very seriously, and would need to look at the video of the transaction. A half hour later, he calls me back, and is going to credit me. I asked if he figured out what the "problem" was, and he said they were investing an employee...he apologized profusely, and thanked me for bringing it to their attention, because it was a "very serious matter." So he asked if I had any items over $10 on the receipt, and I only had one, a box of diapers that was $29.99. He said he issued a credit in the amount of $29.99 to my card to compensate for the problem, and again apologized that this had happened to me. So I basically paid $10 for a big box of diapers, since they issued the credit for that item, and not for the GC...

I am going to send an e-mail to corporate, because that is truly good customer service...I'd have been happy with getting my $10 credit and not having had to go back there to do it, but he went above and beyond, and THAT is what will keep me shopping there! I am VERY pleased. Oh, and I should've known something was up, because of the way she handed me my receipt. I was sidetracked with the kids, but I specifically remember, the receipt was folded over with the print on the inside, so I'd have had to take the time to open it to scan it, and she would've been caught right then...by handing it to me the way she did, I avoided looking at it, even briefly...and in this instance, it was good that I didn't look at it right then, because it would've given her the opportunity to make it seem like it was an honest mistake, instead of them catching her red-handed on the video surveillance...

Just something to keep in mind...I've had SO many things similar to this happen to me over the past two years...makes me wonder how many things like this I have missed? UGH...

I am so glad to hear that they were able to prove it-- but how frustrating to have to go back in to do it......

almost similar thing to me last year--only i paid and never got my $20 in change. Didnt realize until i got home and the store had closed for the night and had to wait until the next morning to call and go in..... but they checked the video and sure enough my change was pocketed by the cashier  -- they did give me my $20 back though --I really thought that i just had lost it on the way out and never would have thought it would have been taken at checkout.

enjoy the rest of your holidays

  2. We get to walmart at 12:30 there is only around 15 people int he store (yay!!!!!!!) so I go find out where the $198 laptop is going to be and get in line. I rarely ever do walmart because I had my leg broken one year there on BF. Well we are standing in and the lady comes and counts us out and says everyone after #28 can leave the line because they only have 28 laptops. I thought that was nice of her that way those people could get in other lines for things they needed. Well at about 3 am she goes down the line and hands everyone a numbered ticket BUT tells us we still can not leave the line because they will bring the laptops out and hand them to us in exchange for the tickets and even if we have a ticket if we are not there when they bring them out she will give to the next person wanting one. So okay, im thinking no problem because Ive cased the store and know where all the other things I want are (board games and $3 pajamas). So all of a sudden at 330 am they start taking all of the plastic off the BF items and bringing out the pallets. By now the store is crowded, and people are snatching up all of the black friday items that werent ticketed. Everyone in the line is asking can we please leave the line since we have tickets since they put the items out early. She continues to say no. By 4:30 EVERYTHING is gone!!!!!! and guess what WE STILL WERE STANDING IN LINE!!!! Even the people who came for TV's have them and are standing in line waiting for 5 am to come. Did I mention they brung the pallet of laptops out at 4:40 ish and still refused to give them to us. They did not start handing out the laptops until 5:11 on the dot. Another walmart employee had come by at like 4:50 and was like "Do you want help handing them out so you can get it done" and the old asshole of a man who was over the line sad "Nahhhh they can wait it out" and laughed a little bit. I was extremly annoyed and pissed off.

Once I got my laptop I got inline and waited for 2.5 hours to check out because the lines were so backed up because everyone had gotten thier things before 4:30 and were already inline just waiting for 5 am to hit.

we must have been at the SAME WALMART!! only i was in a tv line.... we were not allowed out of line either and everything not a ticket was also being grabbed..... by the time 5am rolled around and I got my tv I missed out on many other items since people were able to grab whatever wasnt ticketed~ I also hated the fact that there was no way to get another doorbuster item you had to pick the one you wanted and that was it. we had xboxes in our tv line but you could not get a ticket for both just one etc...

i really didnt like it this year since i missed out on rock band, the chair, and many other items... i also hated all that taped off areas --there was no way to move about...

  3. big ticket items --if that is what you want--i would go to walmart first. even if it is the sweatsuits or games/movies--sure there might be a couple left but no where near the selection they have when they open-- also the sweatsuits last year were really nice and they went fast--i wasnt able to find any for my daughter either..... and i get there at 2am .... i dont even get all the doorbuster items i want, but i go with my mom and we meet people who want what i want and so we try to get for each other at the different areas...... this helps :)
  4. we usually head to our walmart around 2am and are about the 5th in line--if they have the amount of xboxes like last year there wasnt many-- i think about ten? we had a group of adults dive bomb into them when the announced 5am start time it was crazy!! garmins went flying....... best of luck :) it seems like a great deal-- we already have ours so i wont be in that line :)
  5. what's up with the Boston Market Campaign? Are we supposed to order $100 worth of food and only get 10% as our sample? I'm confused....

hopefully we will get something in the mail that explains this. I know I am not going to order 100 worth of food.... especially so close to the holidays..

  6. There is a house party coming up later in the year that I would LOVE to participate in. Is there anything special I need to do when applying or is it kind of random??

I think they are random, I am sure that they are looking for certain types of hosts for certain events, those that fit their demographics, but for the most part it is hit or miss.

I never know why I didnt get chosen for some parties (and some of these I really really really wanted)--when I felt I fit what they would be looking for....

you never know. good luck!! They are so much fun, lots of free goodies for everyone, and a great reason to get family and friends together.

BEsto fo luck! HOpe you are chosen for the one you are wanting :yup:

  7. i got an update on the barbie party saying i was selected as a finalist, but i didnt complete my profile in time... i searched thru EVERY SINGLE email in my inbox AND junk mail and there was NOTHING from houseparty... wtf?! :-(

what i have found to be helpful is that if you know when a party is set to go (they give you estimates --like today is the date for healthy choice)

I log in check my dashboard to see what color code i am at--hoping that it isnt the dreaded red one--

i dont wait for emails. if you get a party it will pop up--if it is on the day the party is to launch-- before the email is sent through--at least that is what i have found--your best bet to make sure you get in is to constantly check the site on the party launch dates

    hth!

  8. Bummer. I missed that one. It is $45.68 now. I would have paid $21.99. I've heard such mixed reviews on this one. My son will be 7 in May. I've been looking at this because I can't think of anything else to get him. We already upgraded from the Gameboy Advance to the DS and I wasn't ready to pay $169.00 to upgrade to the new one. So thought this seemed interesting enough. And $21.99 seemed like the perfect price I'd be willing to pay. Hope that sale happens again.

you may want to check around. My friends son upgraded to the dsi by trading in his old ds ad it ended up costing him only $70 for the new one. hth
