  1. Our aunt and uncle always deep fry the turkey for the extended family get-together and we always take an extra one just for us (they fry it for us), so we can have plenty of left overs for us. :) Once we all had the deep fried kind, we never went back.
  2. I want to know what in the world they plan on purchasing for them to have gotten in line this early! No item will ever get me to wait more than two days and it would still have to be a HECK of deal for me to get out before 2 AM Friday morning. FRESH turkey, mac and cheese, pumpkin pie and time with my family are more important. That's just me though. :)
  3. At our Wal-Mart that is open 24 hours they have all the items out on big palletts and everyone just stands beside what they want until 5 am when they unwrap them. Then it's a free for all. No one is allowed to touch any of the items until 5 AM though.

  5. Our six year-old son has been asking for these things ever since the original AquaDots were released. We never did get around to getting them for him before the recall and we were relieved we never bought them. Now he is asking for them again and I've been unsure about getting them for him. My husband says no way, I think they may be okay. But I'm gonna follow the rule my mom taught me to go by when I didn't know if meat in the fridge was good or bad: "When in doubt, throw it out". I think Santa won't be bringing it this time, but there will be other goodies to make up for it... atleast I hope since it's at the top of his list.
  6. I may have missed it, but I'm surprised no one mentioned finding a parking space or having someone steal a space from you. A couple of years ago my husband and I were in the Toys R Us/Circuit City parking lot (they are in the same shopping center) waiting for a car to back out of a spot when these two teenage guys came up and swiped it from us. We were mad as heck, so we just sat there waiting for them to get out and say something to them. They were two chickens, because they didn't budge until we drove on. We knew they were heading into Circuit City (being two punk teens), so we went over there to scare them a little. Keep in mind, my husband was wearing his usual Harley-Davidson shirt, he has long hair, facial hair (unlike these brats), tattoos and earrings. He looks tough, but wouldn't hurt a fly. I spotted them and said loudly, "There they are" to my husband. We confronted them, I asked them what was their problem, and told them they could have hurt somebody. They were stuttering and couldn't get a word out. As soon as we turn around to walk off they start laughing and are big, tough "men" again. What a bunch of spoiled brats. Why can't people just be patient?
  7. http://hhgregg.com/ProductDetail.asp?SID=5F4EBB4EA8B648888FBF095F5887AB79&ProductID=18622 Custeph, this should be the link to the JVC Camcorder. Here is a link to a Samsung camcorder as well. I don't think it's the $175 one I listed above, but still a good deal it seems at the same price as the JVC. http://hhgregg.com/ProductDetail.asp?SID=9D414CCE2E4445DA950CC23A5650ED9D&ProductID=19473
  8. My husband and I went to HH Gregg today and got a sales paper. Apparently, they were going to have the JVC camcorder on sale until tomorrow for the price of $179.97. They had them in stock at the store so we bought one ourselves. They also have a Samsung MiniDV camcorder for $175 as well. That one is marked down from $199.99. I'm sorry, but I don't have the model number for that one. But they had the Samsung in the glass showcase up front.
  9. Oh, how wonderful! Thank you so much for posting the info! I wasn't too thrilled about camping either, so this saves the day. :)
  10. I figured that it would probably be an online only item. Oh well, I guess we'll get there early to get a ticket. Our camera went out and it's hard to find a decent brand-name MiniDV camera under $200, so we do need this item to be able to video tape Christmas Eve and morning. That is worth the wait to be able to record those memories! Luckily, one of our CC is in the same shopping center as Toys R Us, so my husband and I thought we could atleast kill two birds with one stone. While he gets the camera I'll run over to Toys R Us and get a few things from there. We'll just have to make a stop at our 24 hour Krispie Kreme for an assorted dozen and coffee before going there to camp out. And Andrea, I'm not sure if BB has a similar camcorder or not. Thanks for the info, but I refuse to shop at BB. They used to, or may still do, finance their credit cards through the company that financed my car and the company is a complete predatory lender. So, if BB is gonna deal with that company, I won't deal through them. I'd much rather give CC my money. :)
  11. Hi Elena, The JVC camcorder is also the only thing that my husband and I really want to get. We also haven't done the whole 'waiting in line' thing either, so I'm glad you asked those questions. I hope someone can answer, because I, too, would like to know what would be a good time to show up for that item. We're not new to Black Friday at all, but WalMart has always been our first stop. I also saw that WalMart has that same camera online and I am going to check with our store to see if they have it in stock. Maybe they could do a price-match on BF if we take the CC ad in? May be something that you could also check into to avoid those long lines. If not, I also hope they don't get gone to quickly!
