  1. Thanks, I sent one to my daughter in New Mexico. She just got married and it's her first year away from home for christmas :)
  2. As ususal, thanks to a lot of work research and this board, I got everything I wanted (and more lol) this year between online, thanksgiving and today. Was up till about 1am after dinner was done and family gone looking at the real paper ads making sure I didn't miss anything and making a final game plan. Slept until 3am, rolled out of bed and into the car. Got to Penneys about 3:30 am and they had just opened the doors. I think it was probably because of the Toys R Us overflow this year but they have done this before which was fine by me lol, grabbed my snow globe, pillow and cute dressed up yankee candle and checked right out. Got to Shopko about 5 minutes later and was about 20-25 in line. The line was fun, great people and I got to hear the horror stories of the Target and TRU lines. Both blew me away- longer than any Best Buy line I have seen. Also I heard Old Navy was an absolute disaster, letting people cut if they wated to sign up for their card or something. I got everything I wanted at Shopko including the microfiber bed that there was only one of, (I rock) with minimal blood sweat and tears. Doing recon really does help. I then went to Home Depot, stood in line for about 10 minutes and grabbed 2 sets of the led batteries, checked right out and hit Fred Meyer only because my Mom requested a Scrabble game for them last night and they had all board and handheld electronics BOGO. I was thrilled to find a handheld scrabble- my present to me-- as my freebie. Was home by 7 am and had a bath and slept 6 hours. Woke up and scored some more movies on amazon- all the ones I didn't go to Target or Best Buy for because I knew the crowds would be bad at the same price or less. I had already got a Kodak for my husband off Best Buy-- a great one according to reviews with 5 x zoom for $99 a few days ago thanks to a tip on this board somewhere. I was reluctant to get another Kodak but my husband really liked his and wanted another so...I also got the Norton 360 and a great phone from Office Max online thanksgiving day-- I was very thrilled about those and a wii mote from radio shack thanksgiving day. Might go out again to look around today but 'probly not.
  3. Sorry- last night I got stuff and paid for shipping that is free today. All of my stuff was available still so I called to see if they would cancel it and I'd just do a new order. Well my order was on the shipping dock already so she said she'd credit me the difference
  4. Ohmygosh have I relayed how much I love Best buy? I just called and they adjusted my shipping charges-- saving me only about $10 but hey-- $10 is $10 ;-)
  5. Oh jeez-- really just wanted the Abbey Road pack and some movies and I didn't want to stand in line all night just for that (or just brave the early morning madness)-- and I got them! Fizzled out the first time, then I just tried to check out again using paypal and it was perfect. **got my main interest-- the Kodak for $99 a few days ago. Best Buy yet again has just shone through for me.
  6. Just wanted to say thanks for this- I was considering standing in line at Shopko for it for $10 more- "I'm gettin' too old for that c*ap."
  7. I was really thinking the Target Nikon was the way to go but it does say limited quantities and everyone and their mom is going to be standing in line at Target this year for those tv's. I came across the the Walgreens GE camera and did a little research and I'm thinking this has potential to be a good camera. GE is new to cameras but I guess they took some people from Olympus to make them. I'm thinking I'm willing to gamble on this. Anyone know how many there will be at the stores? My husband is pretty good buddies with the employees at a Walgreens, he goes there almost dailhy as it's really close to his work. Last year they told us there were only a few video cameras in the store.
  8. I looked up the 915 on their website and it's different, I'm pretty sure- 5 mp's instead of 10 or something. I can't find anything on d15 though.
  9. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ditto
  10. Found some great stuff at St. Vincent De Paul yesterday, I've been looking for more outdoor stuff and found 2 plug in plastic things-- a big handsome pumpkin and a tombstone with ghosts coming out of it-- really cute for $10 and $5. Found a Similiar thing at Goodwill last week. Scored husband a Nightmare Before xmas shirt for $4 at St. Vincent.
  11. I had heard they have improved the insurance lately and that is great. I also like the fact that they are going greener. Plus the low cost generic prescriptions are awesome. I hope they keep improving. But these things alone are not enough to entice me back to their store. My brother worked for Walmart and could barely support himself, his wife and child were on welfare--it's how they got insurance. Your personal anti union stance--well a whole 'nuther can of worms for a whole 'nuther message board.
  12. Nope-- I loved Walmart, really mised it at first but when you look at the big picture of what it is and what it represents- I could no longer go there. The documentary High price of Low Cost sealed it for me. I cannot support those business practices and their extreme anti union stance. I realized after awhile that if you are a good shopper- you can find things for the same price or cheaper on sale elsewhere and I don't miss the type of white trash customer base I got tired of rubbing up against there. I'm not saying I am so highbred myself-- proud descendant of Missouri white trash here-- it just kind of disgusts me how people completely ignore what is really going on with that company-what it is doing to America-- for a few pennies savings.
  13. Thanks for the responses, we didn't have time to go to the dollar tree here last night-- they always have great stuff. We did go to big lots and they had some-an aisle's worth, Walgreens had a little, Costco had a giant bat for $26 that was cool. We spent too much time at Big Lots but I got some great stuff, crocs for $12, all 24 episodes of Joey for $6 and the first season of Night Court also $6. We did get some Halloween stuff there too- a Dracula's pub sign that lights up, was the highlight and a black kitty pumpkin at Walgreens. Seems like stores have stuff out here-- just not a lot yet and Target doesn't have it's stuff. I haven't been in a Walmart for 5+ years so I don't know if they have stuff or not.
  14. Saw some at Walgreens and a few things at Costco, have heard Michaels and Goodwill has their stuff out- anywhere else?
  15. Fresh step cat litter 24#'s (not sure sorry) 30% off -$2 off coupon on the litter, $7 something.
  16. Well, tried going back to bed- the coffee didn't allow, so I got up and set up treadmill then randomly checked the boards....stuck my contacts in, dabbed on deoderant and de-iced the car--still 75% here blah However someone did point out to me batteries were just marked to 75% so I got some of those to make the trip worth it :)
  17. Just wanted to say thanks to those who have posted early-- it's been freezing here and icy roads just aren't a friend to my poor car. Yesterday I was able to go back to sleep, but today-- I'm just--up-- as I have to work at 9. Woke up at 5 am and couldn't go back to sleep thinking for sure today would be the day Oh well.
  18. I haven't got mine yet either. I probably will call them today.
  19. Thanky thanky, got some for me for work and for my son for Disneyland. He's autistic and very heavy so I got him the rx clouds. I'm sure he'll end up liking them and wearing them more than just the trip. Neither were in the outlet section but much needed and the code and free shipping are much appreciated.
  20. I got my last kitten off Craig's list after my old cat died--although I have a lot of cats, his death just really hurt us. I looked through the ads for weeks, my only perogatives being that the kitten was a rescue, and alone. (kittens should have other kittens) I would adopt from a local shelter, but I don't know if they would adopt to me as I have 13 cats...Well, someone put a kitten on that someone else had found by himself in a field, that they were bottlefeeding and couldn't keep him as they had 3 cats in an apt. I figured, I'm great at socializing and willing to do the every 2 hour bottle feed and got myself my boy Harvey. I put him on my vets kitten plan ($120 something) and got him fixed for only $40 at a local agency. All I can say is he is so very loved-- but boy this kid was some work. Because he was separated from mom and siblings so early with no other kittens to play with, he was very play aggressive, but the other cats "worked with him" lol on that and we just had to be very careful about not (husband rahhh) playing with him with our hands and well...playing with him a lot. I also was pushed farther into the idea of getting him when some young girl respnded to the ad saying her roommate had 2 female cats that were very maternal (double raaahhh) and she wanted him...I adore my feline companions but I'll tell ya right now--none of my 13 are "maternal" for chrissakes, they are not human. Just sounded like she didn't know a fig about cats and taking care of a baby that young takes a lot of knowledge and work. BUT adopting from your local humane society or animal shelter is ideal, don't let people scare you with stories of sickness, most shelters are very well run and you get so much with your adoption fee-- it is incredible the bargain it is. Also if your daughter is very young (5 or younger) a kitten might not be the best idea, at least get an older kitten. I have found longer haired cats tend to be more mellow, but those short haired black cats seem to be an exception--very loving in all of my experiences. Tabby's seem to have all around great temperment too. The kitten in my avatar is Harvey, named after Jimmy Stewart's big invisible bunny, and this was his picture on Craigs list. Isn't he cute? He looked like a gorilla at that point lol.
  21. Thanks for the tip on this, I went last week and got them Sunday-- there were only 4 left in the store at that point.
  22. It came with any of the $5?? and under gifts--can't remember the amount, maybe 10-15. I got the rainbow thing (makes a rainbow in your room) for daughter, digital coin counter for son, some classic tv dvd for husband I know he doesn't have, and the Planet Earth.
