  1. Is this on of the stores closing? They are not honoring any sells except the liquidation ones. If it is a misprint or typo, they also do not have to honor it if you are informed of that i.e walking in the door and it's on the door. But I would agree about writing a letter. Though not flashing the managers name up, as each store has multiple sales managers and different shifts. Only one store manager. Try him or her.
  2. The court has allowed them to walk away from 150 dead leases(leases they have been paying where no store has been for a while)....that in itself is big. So they will save over 40 million just on those leases. Count the new stores they will be liquidating and their leases and a lot of money is now being saved. Now they need to see what stores are in the ebst locations and buy more up to date merchandise. There is room in the market for CC. they just have to be aggressive and train their staff.
  3. They are actually under new management. And it has acted swiftly. I think they have anew CEO who is very dedicated to acting now and not waiting for thing to run it's course. They fired over 500 upper management Friday to make sure that the same boneheads are not in charge. The new credit line enables them to get BF merchandise and hopefully get out of all those bad leases(which are they main problem). If those leases are gone this company can survive and that is a big reason for the BK. Nothing but the 155 stores are closing now and hopefully that will be all thats needed for them to come back leaner and meaner. Hopefully this will be another K-mart. They asked the BK court to honer all Gift cards, warrenties and promotions in stores thata re not closing. As I hate rebates no matter where I shop, hopefully more of thier merchandise will be without on BF. I am betting they will be VERY competitive shopping season.
  4. Actually, The distribution center in Bethleham PA had a 40 foot sink hole show up in the loading dock area. The center had to be shut down while repairs are going on due to safety reasons. (like the sink hole getting bigger underneath the center itself!) Until a building inspector says the building is safe no shipments will be going to the North East portion of the country. That center services PA, NJ, MD, NY, MD and some of New England area. To re-open on Monday the 3rd. Go ahead and google the news. Sony has not stopped sending merchandise EXCEPT to closing stores. They are closing 150 stores though.
  5. Hi. I'm Kaity from California. I live for this day of the year. My hubby thinks I am crazy to be talking X-mas already! No children yet...... but still lots of family to buy for....
  6. I usually lurk. But I have to say that except for some groceries, Wal-mart is not very good price or merchandise wise. I can usually find, not only for better price, better customer service, and better quality what I need at any number of other retailers or discount/warehouse stores out there. This kind of tactic will only keep me away. I mean do they even GET what the hell Black Friday is about? They might want to talk to talk to the idiots in charge, because last I checked, the point of opening one's mouth to the media was to make them look better and bring people IN to the stores over all others, NOT the the other way around. What do they think people get up at the ungodly hour of 3 a.m. for, if not to "cherry-pick" for the best bargain? In this days economy they need every shopper the can get. And after their last few years sadly disappointing BF, it takes a lot of nerve to act like they are worth all this blather on their part. I will be at Target this year.
