HELP! Can anyone provide suggestions for activities for a cub scout Christmas party/den meeting? We have 34 kids from 1st grade - 5th grade. Looking at maybe a craft of some sort - would like it to relate to something in the boy scout area. Here are a couple of ideas I've had so far: Pine cone with bird seed idea Make Christmas cards for those in the hospital or nursing home and possibly have them bring an item like lotion or socks to donate and have them wrap the item Decorate a pre-made sugar cookie for their treat. Any ideas are appriecated. Thanks!

I always do a small gift card to Barnes and Noble, but I also wanted to share another approach to the teacher / staff gift giving dilemia. Our Parent's Club places boxes in the different buildings that the pre-school through 6th grade are in. For about 2 weeks the parents can drop cash or check into the box. Only 1 person collects the money and cashes the checks - so NO ONE knows how much the other person gave. That money is tallied up and is then distributed evenly based on whether the staff is full time or part time and includes teachers, secretaries, custodians, cooks, gym, art and music, etc. So everyone is covered. One teacher always picks out something special with the money - like a necklace one year - that she won't have otherwise been able to afford. The full time staff usually gets around 100 and the part time around 60-70.

I always just pick "volunteer" when I sign up. I've never had them ask any questions and I've been going for several years.

I was just on the Meijer web site and the "Why Wait" sale is 4 pages long. Nothing looked real exciting. I think it was just a way to encourage people to pick up some deals, not a make your own kind of deal. That would be nice though.

My boys are 8 and 11. They love their Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond, Star Wars Lego and Transformer games. There is a new Complete Star Wars coming out. Other new games on their list Christmas include Star Fox, Drawn to Life and My Sims

Legos were mentioned on the radio spot I heard this morning.

I just heard an ad for a 2 day sale at Toys R Us that stated Legos 50% off. Not sure what sets it will include. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Star Wars, but I probably won't be so lucky. Keep your eye out for further details. I'm sure it will be discussed on here as soon as the details are released.

If anyone else is willing to pick up 1 or 2 of the HP Lego Sets for me that would sure make my 2 DS (8 and 11) Christmas. I'd be willing to pay shipping. I tried to hide the sets our local store had when they were marked down to 62.XX, but they are gone now. I often joke that if Legos are ever recalled for lead paint - their rooms would be empty! They are huge fans.
