  1. Checked out our Target today for the first time in over a week, and they had TONS of toys on clearance...a whole half side of an aisle with a 30% sign, like 4 endcaps, and then various things in the aisles...most everything on the endcaps and in the aisles were 50% max, with a few only being 30%...got ds the Buckaroo game he's been asking for for like a year for $8.xx. Picked up three Leap Frog card games for $2.98 each for X-mas gifts. Would have loved to have picked up the V-Smile pocket, but that was still only 30% here, so it was like $55.xx. Also got the pull-string Woody with Wheezy the Penguin for $9.98, which ds also wanted. Checked out the Dora castle for my niece, and that was still 50% off, too, and there were still a couple of them left. If I go on Wednesday, I'm hoping to get one at 75% off...

Our 4th of July stuff was not marked down AT ALL...

  2. Found the clock for $4.98 at the Target in NY that is near my parents' home. Also got an Aquadoodle Tigger and Pooh accessory for $3.xx, and a couple of Take Along Thomas cars for $2.xx. Saw the Dora dollhouse or castle thing (I have boys, so I don't look at that stuff much), for $19.xx, and thought about getting it for one of my nieces, but I didn't have enough hands to carry it at the time...now I'm back in PA, so I probably missed out, but no biggie, I'll find something else!
  3. Also picked up the Art Center game for the V-Smile, $20.98, reduced from $29.99. Went ahead and picked it up since there were only 2 left.

I picked up two of these (one for my kids and one for my nieces--the only two families I know with a V.Smile), for $14.98 each the other day. I also got a V.Tech Write and Learn Storybook for $9.98 for a nephew's birthday next month.

I looked for the Rachel Ray cookware, but our Target didn't have any at all, so I'm not sure they carry it.

I'll be back there on Wednesday to see what other toys were marked down to try to stock up for the holidays!

  4. I used to buy ahead especially toys for Christmas, but I found that by the time November came, the kids tastes changed and they asked for the new toys that recently came out, or instead of the power rangers they wanted in July, now they are into star wars. I ended up with a whole closet full of toys the kids no longer wanted or were into. Last year I bought a whole bunch of toys for my ds that I found here and there throughtout the year on clearence, and then it turned out he has his heart set on a nintendo ds. so I feel like I wasted a lot of money on toys that I didn't need to buy.

My kids are only 3 1/2 and almost 2, so I'm still safe buying stuff thru the year, LOL...plus my nieces and nephews are all younger, too...so I'm covered for a couple of years anyway...then I guess I'll have to shell out the big bucks! ;)

  5. Do you find yourself in the end, when wrapping, that you have too many gifts for some people? I do that! And I don't have any blood relatives to buy for it's my two friends and their kids and I always walk in like Santa and a big red bag! No, not dressed like Santa lol. But sometimes I feel bad like I've outshined others or that they think I'm trying to. But really it's that they have to afford these kids everyday of the year and I don't! To top that off, I am finding these otherwise possibly expensive gifts for a steal so where it may look like I spent 100, I may have only spent $15. at that and they know about the bargains I get!

Tomorrow, I have my nephew's 8th birthday and I have too much for him. I have never been able to just take one gift. But I wonder if others that don't know how little I'm spending think I'm trying to make a show? Went to a wedding last weekend and had gotten a set of glasses and a clearance photo album. Maybe spent $15. including card but some of my other friends couldn't afford to get anything or put $20, in a card and felt bad.

That is me, only I have my own kids and several nieces and nephews to buy for...last year I had so much come Christmas time that I had to save some of it, and re-distribute, because it was just too much for my kids...and dh says it was STILL too much, and really, it was...and then I brought home some REALLY good clearance stuff in January to put away for this coming Christmas, and dh thought I was nuts and said, "We just got through with Christmas, and you're already buying for NEXT Christmas?" I buy anything I can ahead of time on clearance, for birthdays, Christmas, clothes for the following year, etc. There's no way I could afford to pay full price for everything...I buy a few things for full price, the things I find out they want at the last second, stuff like that, but for the most part, I try to buy ahead...

  6. Happy Summer is all gone here...I saw some plates that I think were part of it, but not much else, and certainly none of the good stuff...that's fine, that would've been more $$ for stuff I really don't "need."

I did get Downy for $2.44, which is 50% off, and Garniere Fructis shampoo for $1.44. I didn't look at too much because we were in a hurry, and I really just went in for wipes...

  7. Happy Summer 50% off here, some good stuff left, but not what I wanted.

Did manage to get a kids' pinwheel parachute for $6.24. There was no red tag on it, but I know it was $10.xx a few weeks ago, so I had an idea this would be lower now, and it was the only one left...and hidden...

Got dh three Degree packs that had a smaller deodorant too for $1.75 each. Got a graduate ready made scrapbook for $7.48.

Got a few other things, but my only great finds were the deodorant and the parachute...my ds LOVED playing with the one at Gymboree, so now he has one for home...

  8. Target does not do price adjustments on clearance items. If you repurchase the item at the lower price, you can return the higher priced one within the 90 day return time frame. If you don't have your receipt, and need them to do receipt look up, pay with a different form of payment as with receipt look up, it looks for the lower priced item on that card (or so that's what Target has told me).

I think this depends on the store or person you get, because I bought one of those plug n plays at $7.xx, and then they went down again, so I bought it again at the $3.xx price, went out to the parking lot, took off the sticker, and went back in to have them do a receipt lookup, explaining that I had bought it at another Target for more $$, and then bought one at their Target at the cheaper price. He didn't get that I only wanted the one, so instead of doing a return with it, he did a price adjustment. Then I told him that I wanted to return it, because I didn't think they did price adjustments on clearance, and his reply was, "I just did." :g_shrug:

Be careful with keeping your receipts in the car. The receipt paper has acid in it and the text will disappear from the paper with heat and sun. Now for those of you not in Florida this may not be such an issue! But for me it is!

I just moved from FL two years ago, and I know EXACTLY what you mean...I'd find a receipt months later (or I assumed), and I'd have no idea what it was for...funny you mentioned that!:smirk:

  9. I do know that they are changing some return policies in August, not sure if they aren't allowing online returns in store anymore.

Wow, that would suck! Their return policy already got pretty harsh the last time they overhauled it...at least now stuff can be looked up if you purchased it with a credit/debit card...I don't use anything else there, just because of that...and even then, I've still had one item "fall through the cracks," as it didn't show up on my card, on ANY of my cards, and she tried both debit/credit on my debit card. She took my license and did something, and came up with the price to refund me...I don't know if it was because it was a clearance thing that had gone to salvage, or what, but I was glad to get the credit, since I was returning something that didn't work...

  10. saw that they have started marking a lot of the furniture. I wasn't interested myself, but I know that some of it was Shabby Chic. I know there has been a lot of interest in that on here so I thought I would mention it.

Did you happen to notice if those nice, big, comfy leather chairs were marked clearance yet? I keep waiting for that to happen, but I'm sure they'll be gone once they hit 50% for sure, if not by 30%!

  11. Went home to upstate NY for the weekend, and checked out the Target there...

SSS 50% off there...got an air freshener for the car, a crystal heart one, for $1.38, and my big find was a travel case for a portable DVD player, for up to 10" player (which we have, and it's been a PITA to try to get a case for it, because they're mostly for 7" ones), which has straps to put it in your car and everything, for $9.96, originally $39.xx...almost missed this one, and it was the only one left...I don't know what the difference is, this one had a yellow tag "as is" (and nothing wrong with it or missing from it...in fact, it appears to have never been opened, as everything was still banded up and tagged, etc.) instead of a red clearance sticker...

Also, dh saw my "clearance gum" from Target, and he laughed when he saw it...and then he asked me how I find this stuff...he asked if I just walk around the store, and when I told him yes, I think at first, he didn't believe me, and then he just shook his head...:giggle:

  12. Duh! I knew there was something else I got, and it was my best deal...after someone mentioned it here, I found one of the Thomas "Steamies," which I KNOW wasn't there before, cuz I'm in there a couple times a week...I honestly couldn't remember how much the poster here said they'd gotten it for, and it came up "item not found," and the cashier asked me how much it was...I knew it was 75% off, and I told her that, but then I said, "I don't know, I think $2.48," and that's what she rang it up as...I see it was supposed to be $3.24, which I still would've paid for them, but I honestly had no clue, as I'd looked for them at two Targets after it was posted, and couldn't find it, so I'd given up...

So, I got a REALLY good deal on that!

  13. The stainless steel garbage cans finally went 75% off, but of course, the only color they had left here was red...that would look ridiculous in our kitchen! bummer...

Got lots of toys at 75% off, though...Muichiz (or however it's spelled) at $4.98 (bought Bratz ones, got two), Buzz Lightyear Rev N Go $1.48!!, Disney Plug n Play $7.xx, and I swear there is something else I can't think of right now...got lots of candy clearance (Shrek m&ms, Junior Mints, chocolate covered macadamia nuts)...CBAD beefaroni .48/can, mandarin oranges .41/can, picante sauce $1.xx/jar. Lots of clearance in the pantry section! My day would've been perfect if I was able to find the plain or black garbage can instead of the red!
