  1. Need to buy a new tree but I'm similar to you, Kanyon. I don't start putting up decorations until Black Friday. I don't blame my fellow Michiganders for getting the stuff up early while the weather is kinder but I don't see any need to have the stuff lit up yet. Just me, though. I know some folks are all in the second it hits midnight on November 1st. I've just never been one of them, as I like to enjoy November as a month of gratitude before the rush to Christmas (and the new year) begins.
  2. I will say I always enjoy your tech posts. Always something new to learn. And now that I'm in a house, I have more flexibility with tech options! [For example: Looking at antennas lately for possible install next spring (don't want to deal with it in crappy weather). I have ideas but not sure what the best option might be.] Considering a keypad/smart deadbolt but not tooooo smart - just want something that could make it easier for my kitty sitters to come and go without having to make sure they have a physical key. Looking at home security stuff - hearing pretty solid things about a Simplisafe system but need to figure out what pieces I'll want/need if I decide to go that route. So many choices! (Also, are there any deals on this kind of stuff around BF??? Rookie homeowners wanna know!!! LOL)
  3. Oooh yeah - I did an iPhone deal at Target when I got my XS(?), I think. Got a $250 gift card out of it that really helped me stretch my budget over the next few months when things got tight.
  4. I'm buying me a ladder... Heh. Joys of homeownership.
  5. Boo hiss on the change to the Kohl's cash for the week. I did shop the early access sale last night, though, and was able to use the expiring 20% off coupon on my purchase. Win. Most of what I bought will be ready for pickup today, with just one item not available until the 7th (ship to store).
  6. Yeah I miss the app... Took me a while to figure out too (and cost me my spot in the BF Prize Club, dang it!) Was handy for me to catch up on the forums on the run on my phone more easily. Such is life, though.
  7. The 55" 4K TV Target had a few years back that I walked out the door with for $225ish. We were all talking here about whether or not they would allow buy online, pick up in store and then someone (maybe jaymacfla?) successfully did it and so I followed suit. Great TV, still in perfect shape. survived the move to the new house this spring and is still my primary set in my living room.
  8. I am absolutely grabbing a few of these to make! Congrats to all the winners!
  9. Oh gosh yes. I'm already prepping the announcement for the NYE party at church!
  10. Do we think BB (or others) will match that Apple Watch 9 price? (I'm looking at the smaller face that WM shows will be $349 on 11/8.)
  11. I will try again this year. That flashlight has actually come in quite handy on several occasions!
  12. I have no nest or even a significant other to speak of (never have) so the holidays are always a bit bittersweet for me. Right now, I make sure I get together with my dad every year because, at 80+ years old, I have no idea how much more time I'll have with him. His dad lived to see 91, so I'm hoping I still have some years but you never know when the next time is the last time. Neither of us really needs much "stuff", so we've gone to trading gift cards to our favorite stores (Dad fishes, so he gets Bass Pro/Cabela's) and small token type gifts (I typically get him a new flannel shirt or two, as he can always use those.) My greatest moments of joy on the holidays are definitely the time spent with him and other close friends. I will say I do very much enjoy participating in the SS exchange here on the forums. Such fun to go out and buy for someone I may never meet, hoping I've picked fun things they'll enjoy while knowing someone out there is doing the same for me.
  13. I'm in a similar boat with the Apple Watches. Obviously, they're not half off but the SE is tempting. That said, I'm wary of buying it this week without knowing if any sort of solid deals will drop on Series 8/9 for BF... Decisions, decisions!!!
  14. Agreed! Been a faithful participant for several years! It's a blast!
  15. No idea yet - I just know they've had PetSmart beat the last few years, so I'm waiting to see if the trend continues. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled, for sure.
  16. Meijer! Cat litter! Yes really... lol Other places I hit physically are PetSmart, Home Depot, B&BW, Walmart, Target sometimes, this year maybe Menard's now that I have a house and I have a Menard's so close to me. I do Kohl's and BB (if there's anything I want there) online. Other places vary, depending on the sales.
  17. Beware... They're addictive (as you can see)... Once you start, you might not be able to stop!
  18. So fun seeing the sales starting to pop more and more - anticipation is building! Woo!
  19. Interesting, as I just recently learned I have a Sam's Club inside of 5 miles from me... Will look into this...
  20. Actually going to be keeping an eye out for an Apple Watch deal... Wasn't necessarily planning on that but my Fitbit's been nothing but frustrating since Google took them over (sadly). I'm having to charge it sometimes multiple times a day (and I am far from alone). Kind of defeats the purpose of having it... They've also basically killed the scale I'm using, so yeah. Done with Fitbit. A shame, too. I really liked their stuff pre-buyout. Worked great.
  21. I'll have to work at some point on BF but it likely won't be till sometime in the afternoon. That said, I'll likely be out early for batteries and such (and may be hitting up Menard's this year with the house and all, now that I have one near me). I enjoy being out in the crazy. I'll also likely do some shopping online (looking at you, Kohl's) but my actual finalized plans will depend on what the deals are vs what I'm looking to get.
  22. I bought a house this year for the first time so I'm still "filling in the blanks" for various house needs. That said, gift budget will be same/maybe slightly smaller, depending on what all other stuff I end up buying for the house. Honestly, I often spend the most on my SS gift for the exchange here on the forums (yes, we have a minimum but darned if I don't blow right by that most of the time LOL). (Shameless plug: If you haven't yet joined in the fun, try it out this year! Always such a good time seeing what everyone gets!) I am watching for sales/deals on various things I have my eye on, though.
