  1. The Monster High dolls are listed at 30% off with Cartwheel; on BF they are listed at $10, which is about $1.00 cheaper than with the Cartwheel. Debating going to use the Cartwheel app today to ensure I get the dolls I want. With the RedCard the price will be under $10 regardless. Oh the decisions!
  2. Milwaukee - western suburbs. I usually shop around Moreland/Bluemound/Hwy 100.
  3. I live in Wisconsin where some years it's been in the teens or low 20s at 2-3 a.m. when standing in line. I dress in many layers, including Under Armour type shirts and thermals. Hats are a must, so are thick gloves and a scarf if we're going to be outside for more than 10 minutes. I try to wear an outer layer with a pouch pocket so I can store my gloves as soon as I get inside. I carry a crossneck purse with a big easy to navigate zipper (hands are still cold!) and a small bag inside that has all the cards I need, as well as gift cards, coupons, etc. We always bring the ads with us in the car, and usually take the one in to the store that we need. I won't be standing in line at all outside this year (we eat dinner at 5 p.m.) so I'll still be in layers, but it won't be nearly as cumbersome. Today the high here is only 29-30 degrees so I have no idea how cold it may be next Thursday/Friday.
  4. Thanks! Really appreciate that since I didn't get the ad.
  5. I got mine on Target.com this morning too, around 6:45 a.m. I live in Wisconsin and so far I haven't gotten a cancellation.
  6. Will it be available online?
  7. So with the 6 p.m. Deal 1 and the 8 p.m. Deal 2, does that mean the Deal 1's end when Deal 2 starts? I want the Skylanders Swap Force which is a Deal 1 and there is no way I'm going to Walmart at 6 p.m. Does it say when the Deal 1 prices end?
  8. Okay, never done the price matching before. How does that work? If I want the Swap Force for the price in the TRU ad, how do I get Walmart to price match it? Just go there during the time of the ad with the ad and have them give me that price?
  9. Target has Swap Force on sale now in their Toy Catalog for $69.99 with the $5 coupon from the Book. That's the best pre-Black Friday price I've seen.
  10. There were a few things I needed out of this ad, like the ridiculously low Skylanders Swap Force prices but that price is only until 9 p.m. and I will not go to the store there on Thanksgiving day. The second price (just as low) is good Friday morning, but I worry about quantity and lines for the "second wave" of doorbuster prices. If I can't get the second set online, oh well. If they have the Skylanders this cheap, someone else will too. Do any of the stores match the doorbuster prices on Black Friday?
  11. I'm a Target card holder and I didn't get one in the mail. What gives? Do you have to request one special?
  12. Question about Skylanders Swap Force and I apologize if I missed this earlier... I tried to read the whole thread before posting. With Swap Force, do you need to buy the new "starter kit" in order to utilize all the Swap Force characters? I'm guessing yes as it seems to come with a whole new game. Just wanted to verify before I start doing my price comparisons!
  13. With the introduction of the iPad Air and the new iPad mini yesterday, I'm hoping the prices (new and refurb) of the iPad 2 and 3 go down. My son has an iPad in his classroom (each student does) and I want to get him one to mimic the one he has at school so he can work on things at home. I've been watching sales now trying to find a good deal, and while I've seen some prices that have been "impressive," I'm hesitant to bite the bullet because I'm hoping for better deals now that the new versions will be around in November.
  14. I don't like it either. Our Thanksgiving doesn't usually start until 5 p.m. or so, we most times we're not done eating until around 8 p.m. I'm not going to rush through that to get a sale. I miss the days of getting up at 3 a.m. and standing in line to spend the FRIDAY shopping. That was what was so fun about it. Just like most other things, retailers have ruined the season, missing the point and following the almighty dollar. While I see protests about it on FB or online, it won't matter. There are others who will go out and get the deals, and retailers will continue to offer this "bonus" shopping time to us. It's pretty ridiculous. I will plan to head out later, around midnight, when the first batch of shoppers are already at home. We missed most of the rushes last year doing this, and still got everything on our list. With mobile devices, I supplemented what I couldn't find in store by ordering it online. No problems whatsoever. Plus, living in Wisconsin, it will likely be ridiculously cold at that time, and then I don't have to spend time outside in line. I'm not sure if/when this trend of opening earlier and earlier will stop. As long as someone is there trying to shop, they'll continue to be open.
  15. Since 1998 when I was 22. I've gone on crutches after knee surgery, and at 8 1/2 months pregnant. While it's lost some of it's appeal with the all night opens now, I still wouldn't miss it.
  16. The past two years I have found good bundle values on Legos at Walmart.com. Usually these aren't offered in store, but my DS has been very pleased with the selection and I've saved quite a bit. Good luck!
  17. Milwaukee, WI. I generally shop along the county line (lower sales tax) and many of our good stores are all along one main street. Makes things much easier!
  18. Thanks! These are both great suggestions and I found both an outlet about an hour away, plus two Scholastic sales before his birthday. Thank you so much!
  19. My DS6 has a birthday soon and in lieu of doing goody bags filled with candy and assorted novelties that the kids lose or throw away, I'd like to give each of them a book. Anyone know a place I can buy books in greater lots? I don't want to pay retail at BN or Target or something for all these books. Taking all suggestions, thank you!
  20. I like the ad and definitely see things for the home (just bought a new house!) and DS6. However, I am still sick with the fact that these stores are opening earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving day. Our family doesn't eat until "4 p.m." which is in quotes because it means food will be on the table by 6 p.m. And now stores will be open by 8 p.m.? It just seems like we're losing focus of what the holiday means. I know each store is looking for that dollar, and as long as people continue to show up in line by 7:59 p.m., they will continue this trend. I wish it were different; I miss the good ol' days of getting in line at 4 a.m. and shopping til noon. Oh well, enough lamenting. Here's hoping I can get the Skylanders starter pack online at 8 p.m.
  21. There's so many things to love! Most importantly is the time spent with my mom. We now take time before BF to strategize together, which stores to hit and when. We get store maps in advance and stake out where things will be. It's been great for our relationship!
  22. Oooh! I hope this is by me too. Just bought a house and need all kinds of lawn/garden items. Here's hoping!
  23. You guys have some great ideas! Thank you all so much! Now to choose...
