  1. A strange question (LOL) but what JCP were you at??? The one I was at yesterday evening I was 'waiting' to check out and there was a couple also checking out with their sons wardrobe for next winter and they were told the same thing! Just wondering if this was YOU...?!?! LOL! Probably not, but ya never know..? I was in the JCP in Quincy, IL?

Oh... and they wouldn't take the additional 1.5 off with my JCP card either (although, I didn't ask after they explained it to the other people... lol)!

~ Erin (23y/o SAHM to 3 cuties ages 3 and under)!

No, it wasn't me, I was in Appleton, WI. :yup: However, as I walked past another register I heard the cashier explaining the same thing to other people. They have very deceptive advertising. :gdangry4:

  2. Just an FYI, I went to Penneys last night to buy my DS his winter wardrobe for next year. Picked up a large selection of items expecting to pay the 40% off plus the add'l 15% by using my JCP card. They told me at the register that clearance merchandise is not eligible for the add'l 15% off. I wish I would have known that, I probably wouldn't have purchased as much as I did. Some of it will probably be returned now. I got home and looked at the flyer I got in the mail and it states "take an add'l 15% off ALREADY REDUCED sale priced merchandise." If clearance merchandise isn't "already reduced merchandise" I'd like to know what is!!
  3. Seems to me that the re-tagging of items would be more costly and a pain for them. I just wish they would go back to the "additional percentage" off also.

By the way,,,have any of you Kohl's charge customers gotten an 'additional %" coupon lately? I don't think I have gotten one since before Thanksgiving...

Just got a card in the mail saying anytime you use your Kohl's charge starting Jan 10 - 15th you get add'l 15% off. This is for all Kohl's charge customers.

  4. Ours was fed-ex and had tracking, did you check in your account at buy.com?

I used google checkout and did not create a buy.com account. I tried creating a buy.com account after the fact and tried putting in that order number and had no luck. The item DID have free shipping so they probably used the cheapest method to ship. I'm guessing it's probably coming USPS in which case, I won't hold my breath on getting it before Christmas Eve! It was shipped on the 14th. I guess I'll just hold my breath! :eyepoppin

  5. Can anyone tell me which carrier Buy.com uses to ship orders? I was finally able to get in on the Band of Brothers DVD special using Google checkout and I received notification that my order shipped but it did not provide a tracking number or the carrier used. I'm trying to figure out if I will receive the order before Christmas. I read a previous thread where some people got their orders very quickly and others did not but no mention as to the method of shipment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  6. I absolutely love my mixer, but would I really use this grinder?

If you have a deer hunter in the family this is invaluable. My DH processes his own deer and uses this kitchen aid attachment to grind his own meat. This way we know what we are getting. When you take your deer in to be processed you don't get your own meat back, you just get back the same poundage you brought in and it saves a LOT of money. HTH. :smirk:

  7. Like most of the other posters, I wait until I actually have the ads in front of me. We already bought out plasma TV last week so no major purchases on BF. I do know that I want to go to Sears, Target, Wal-mart and Kohl's. I'm waiting for Thursday's paper to see ads from Menards, Dicks Sporting Goods, Scheels and Gander Mountain. I usually like to stock up on AA batteries on BF since they are usually on sale for really cheap but haven't seen any good deals on batteries thus far in the ads. Thursday evening will be my planning time. ;)
  8. I want to get my DH a digital scouting camera with infrared technology this year for Christmas but don't know that much about them. I haven't seen any such thing in any of the posted ads thus far, but there aren't any ads posted for any sporting goods type stores. I'm hoping that either Dicks Sporting Goods, Scheels or Gander Mountain will have something in their ads. Otherwise there are a ton of brand new ones for sale on ebay but I would prefer to buy something like this from a local store. Anyone know of any for sale on BF?
  9. Being a newbie to the board-you guys have probably already done this but...

Each year just for fun beforehand we try to figure out what will be the big doorbuster items.

I'm thinking digital cameras and "regular" older version televisions, and boom boxes.

Anyone want to chime in with their thoughts.

I think there will be deals on plasma TV's this year (at least I'm hoping!) I'm sure there will be the old stand by, kitchen appliances like usual - coffee maker, toaster, immersion blender, etc. I think you will see some really great deals on MP3 players as well as SD memory cards also.

  10. They usually only have a single page insert in the Thanksgiving day paper. They usually have gun cases, block targets, a turkey fryer and a handfull of other things. Nothing really great and I don't think they have a very large supply of the items they have advertised. They are not the doorbusters that you can only buy for a few hours in the morning at that price but a part of their weekend sale. I guess you might just get lucky and one of the few items they have listed is something you are actually looking for!
  11. I wish I had a camera phone....I was just floored, my sister was funny, I tell her to come here, you gotta see this, she's like "ooo Dooney knock- holy (bleep) those are real":runaway: It was priceless. I think when I go back I am going to ask someone about them!

Just curious because I'm sure we'll never see the Dooney's at my store in Appleton, WI but do you recall how much they were? I'm a Dooney fanatic! :o

  12. Was at my Target in Appleton, WI today and they had TONS of back packs for 75% off. There was also alot of candy on clearance. I got two 1lb bags of Hershey kisses (one carmel filled and one plain) for $1.18/bag. School supplies were also 75% off but they basically only had loos leaf paper and those black and white (old fashioned style) for 12 cents. They had TON in several colors both wide and college ruled. There is tons of clearance in domestics, some 30% off, some 50% off and some 75% off. Looks like they are possibly getting rid of some of the lines (Thomas O'Brien) they carry and are making room for something new - just a guess. there was a breakfast station (4 cup coffee maker, mini toaster oven and something else that I can't think of all in one) for $7.48. The also had about 6 or 8 of those inflatable water spiders for $7.48.
