  1. You are so very welcome. I do this often for my sons friends' families. In fact, one mom called me this week to see if I would come shopping with her and help her put some of these baskets together for some families in need at their church. Needless to say, we had a very good time and we were able to do 15 baskets.
  2. One thing I always love to get or give is candles. They are well-priced and you can get some wonderfully decorated ones for the holidays. Pen sets can be found cheap and are always nice things to have. I'd normally say ornaments also, picking out special ornaments but are you sure all of these people celebrate Christmas?
  3. That was what I was thinking when I added the "or kool aid packs". Wasn't sure whether the sender was in Hawaii. Thanks!!!
  4. I've said it in other places, but I have a 14yr old and 15yr old boy. I had to get some little things as well to make one equal the other box wise. I got things like Axe and Tag gift sets, they were under $10 each and on sale. Krispy Kreme instead of Dunkin Donuts here. I picked up very nice pierre cardin pen sets at Big Lots for $5. Also, itunes cards and extra earphones is a good thing. Also picked up very cheap at WM a car charger and an ac charger for my ds ipod. He has the video one and the other ones were cheaper yet. Maybe a case for the ipod? Just thoughts from another mother who seems to be surrounded by testosterone lately.
  5. I agree with the games. What I would do would be to pick up a bunch of games, Uno, yahtzee, apples to apples, pictionary, phaes 10, scrabble, monopoly anything like that. Then put it all in a basket with some microwave popcorns of any and all flavors and a 2 liter of pop or kool aid packs. Wrap it up with a nice mylar paper or something like that and that way it covers everyone. Put a note in it such as "Families who play together, stay together." Just a thought.
  6. The only thing about an mp3 is the boy has to be able to have access to a way to download the music as well as being able to purchase it. Maybe a CD player a better idea with some CD's? (and extra batteries) Maybe handheld games. I have 2 teenage boys and sports stuff is always welcomed. Basketball, football or some roller blades if you can get the size. Also a nice jacket the varsity type with a college on it from Steve and Barrys is always welcomed by my guys. (And they are so cheap and have held up well.) The other thing every teenage boy I know is asking for are those things of Axe and Tag. Apparantly around here if you don't smell like one or the other you must be crazy. Mine have also asked for electric shavers, by the way, does this make me old? I would just think of things that he doesn't need more money to be able to enjoy for a long time. Cool hats and cool shirts maybe a gift card to his favorite clothing store. Just was thinking. I know WM had some really cool t-shirts marked down to $3 and $5, I bought a few West Coast Choppers ones for my teens. Hope I helped you think some more for the older boy. I have both a 14 and 15 yr old boy and these were common wants by them and their friends.
  7. Brother Bear is a favorite here I also suggest: Sound of Music Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Mary Poppins Lion King Willy Wonka (the original) Wizard of Oz I have 2 teenage boys and they still watch these and Finding Nemo is quoted here like a religion, then again so is Daddy Day Care and the Original Dr. Doolittle. hope that helps
