  1. This year both my brothers & my sil will be joining me on our all night shopping extravaganza. Usually it is just my middle brother & I. My younger brother went last year & actually had fun with us. lol I've been updating them on all the news & know for sure we will be hittiing up Target to start our night, then probably to Walmart to stand in line over night. We have a few 24 hour ones, but they are such a nightmare to try and shop in that it is ridiculous to even try. I cannot wait! :)
  2. Shoot, I guess I should start figuring out what desserts I want to make. lol I usually have a pumpkin pie & an apple pie. Pumpkin Rolls are my specialty; end up making a ton of these during the holidays.
  3. I never have problems filling stockings- my issue is knowing when to quit. lol I collect things all year long, and am constantly thinking I don't have enough, yet come Christmas Eve- I end up holding back a bunch of stuff, because it all won't fit in the stockings. :) I always do some toys, color books & crayons, hair pretty's, candy, and lottery tickets for the older crowd. Because I coupon, I am also this year doing toothbrushes for everyone & body wash and deodorant.
  4. I shop all year long, although it's harder this year, since we have had to move in with my parents. Not alot of storage & some of the things I had stashed are buried in my storage shed. I pretty much have my 3 year old done- can you say it will be a very Buzz Lightyear Christmas? lol I bought a used Nintendo DS off my oldest son's gf, so that will be my 7 year olds Santa gift. I might go put some stuff on layaway at Kmart this week.
  5. Sorry. I'm not sure on how they are doing them, just know that they are looking for donations of donut stuffs, powdered sugar, icing & candy. lol Make sure to post pics of what you end up doing. I love seeing things like that. lol
  6. I usually go out with my brother, and sometimes sil. We have a great time acting silly, and talking to the other people in line. We also try & help people whenever we can- holding places in line, so we can take turns going and looking for items, getting things off taller shelves, or picking up toys that others are looking for. Money is really tight this year, but I'm still looking forward to going out!
  7. I received my ss the other day. Sorry I didn't post before now- had some major drama going on at my house, including having the police here last night. :( Anyways, thank you so much for my goodies. I received a cute snowman potholder set, a neat glass Santa head, some little plastic Santas & Snowmen things ( I think they might be candy. Haven't had a minute to crack one open to see), and the coolest book from The Gooseberry Patch with cookie recipes. My mom gets there catalouge & I've been eyeing several of their books, so this was perfect. I also received two candles also, warm apple tart & cinnamon twist. If I've forgotten anything, I apologize. Thank you again for all my stuff.
  8. I received my ornament box this last week. I am so sorry I haven't posted before now. I actually wasn't sure which swap it was from. lol But I have it all sorted out now, even though I'm not sure who you are. I do know you live in Florida. :) I received the cutest Disney ornaments! A gorgeous glass one with a Mickey & Minnie building a snowman. It also has glittery stars on the outside of it. I love it! Also got a pink tiara & a cute gold Mickey ears, with spinning silver snowflakes. And as an extra in the box, a yummy smelling Bath & Body Aromotherepy Body Wash. It is a warm milk & honey one. Thank you so much for everything you sent! The ornaments will be going on the tree tomorrow & the body wash is being put up for my personal use-got to hide it or the kids will use it up. lol You did an awesome job! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas! ((()))))
  9. My brother & I had a short, but sweet Black Friday. As money is tight for both of us, there were only a few things we were after. We got to the Super Walmart (24 hours) at about 10 til 5am. Grabbed a cart & was handed a map of all the items in the ad. He headed to the line in the back, for the mp3 players & dvd players, while I went to find the vaccums. Tons of people in the store just hanging around the pallets. At 5am, everyone started grabbing their items, but for the most part doing it nicely. lol Got my blue vaccuum, and cut thru the clothing to get to the other side of the store for the movies. You could not even get by the electronics or toy aisles. Grabbed Cat in the Hat, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Robots 2 pack, Ice Age 2 pack & Slither all for $2 a piece. Die Hard 4, for my dad for $6. And I pm'd Juno for $6. I thought about grabbing a Leapster game & pming, but thought I would get the ones at Kmart the next day for B1G1. Took the cart back to my brother, who was still in line, & went to go look for the $6 picture frames. They weren't out- hadn't been found yet. :( Checked back in with brother, & stood in line for him while he went & grabbed a pair of pj pants. When he came back, I went to the garden center to check out & found my brother, who got everything on his list. Next we headed to Kmart- hit up the electronics dept for the bluetooth headsets ($10 I think), and I grabbed the Sewing Machine for myself, the $19 griddle & two of the leapster games, and headed for layaway. I think that was the longest line I stood in all day. It took about an hour- there were only 10 or 11 people ahead of me, but they were having lots of issues. Finally got done here & we went thru Jack in the Box for some nourishment. :D And headed to Target. Didn't buy too much here, a few of the grow your own christmas tree pots from the dollar spot, some candy & Christmas Marshmallows. Stopped at Radio Shack, my brother picked up 5 of the Skull Candy earphones, and we picked up a few movies & books at Goodwill- they were having 50% off the whole store. Was back home at 10:15am, got the kids breakfast & headed into work. I also snagged Gremlins, Annie, Polar Express, The Office Season 3 & one other I cant' remember right now, all for the same prices in the stores! Was happy about that, as I had some Amazon credit. Fun day, Wish I had a bit more money to spend, but I got a little bit closer to finishing. I hit up Kmart on Sat morning & got a price adjustment on my leapster game & I was glad I put them in Layaway- there were NO games left on the floor at all!
  10. My sil's family draws names for the adults, and they always buy something for all the kids. Our family isn't too out of control- 7 adults & 9 kids, so I usually buy for everyone. Of course we shop at the thrift stores, garage sales, and clearance. That coupled with the things that I've won, it isn't too awful bad moneywise. I also like the idea of making something for the adults. How about putting together a famly cookbook? Ask everyone for a few of their fave recipes, print them up with pics if possible, and put them together.
