  1. I need to buy one of these for my nieces and nephews this year and I refuse to pay $600 for one (I'm not so much cheap as I am poor with good intentions)! The only option seems to be eBay, but I wonder if anyone has had good luck with them.

There are several sellers who are selling them at pretty great prices and that include a receipt, but I'm a bit wary. I would hate to buy one, even brand new, and have it not work.

    Any ideas or experiences?

    Thanks!

If you do try ebay always look at the persons reputation. If they are sellers that have been there for a while, they will not want to risk their reputation. Nintendo offers a 1 year warrenty as well.

  2. my wife always forgets where she hides them. then she finds it and i get it as a birthday gift in february.

We have 3 piece luggage set that fits inside of eachother and i hide the gifts in the 3rd one. That's where my Wii is sitting right now. I so want to open and play it. it's so not fair.

My parents use to hide my stuff in my closet because that was the last place in the world I would have ever checked. I will do that one as my kids get older and smarter to my ways.

  3. I think the biggest reason why they are so hard to get is everyone waited till the last minute hoping the price would drop because it has been out for a while. No such luck, so now everyone is trying to get them and it didn't give time for the stores to re-stock. Just my opinion.
  4. I don't. It's already spoken for. Keep checking walmart this week, especially around noon time today through friday. I saw some other posts from another forum saying they would have them.

Another thing is you should have your account created on the web site ahead of time. It saves time when they do become available and you will be less likely to have it automatically removed from your cart.

  5. If someone needs one, PM me. I will sell it at normal cost, plus shipping to you. I also can get discounted UPS shipping through my job. I had it set up for 1 click buying and I didn't think it took so I ended up with a couple of extra's. I can take pictures, send receipts whatever, doesn't matter.

Sorry I know this probably should not have gone on this link, just thought it would help someone.

  6. I don't know about that. My kid is handicapped and computers and vidoe games is all he really has. Not like he can go out and ride a bike. I had to get one and did. Now my next problem is getting one of those classic controllers because he won't be able to handle the regular remote. It is always something.

All I was doing was offering another suggestion. Life is filled with disappointments. I don't believe in spoiling my kids with everything they put on their list. The fact that people are trying to get one for their children should be enough. Yes the kids will be unhappy for a little while on christmas, but they will also know that they will be getting one soon. These are expensive systems and hard too get. Let your children know that. Let them know how hard it is too get one. Again, it was just another suggestion. Not a solution.

  7. I'm sure Wal-Mart is buying as many as Nintendo will give them. The real reason they don't have enough is that Nintendo is simply not producing enough to keep up with overall demand. That's why every store in the world is sold out, you have to stand in line for hours to get one, and they're selling for a 40-70% markup on eBay.

On a different note, my brother got in line at the Monroe, GA, Wal-Mart (that's basically the middle of nowhere) at about 11:30 or 12:00 tonight. He was the 7th person in line and apparently they have 8. I had planned to go to the Tucker, GA, Wal-Mart at about 6am, but now that looks unlikely.

Good luck to all who try!

I think it is ridiculous for a store to hold on to wii's or ps3's when they only have a few and they know they will get a line out the door. It just pisses people off more. I understand the business side of it, but in the long run, I believe it leaves a bad experience. That's probably one of the many reasons why people bash walmart so
