  1. I went to Walmart first and it was a zoo. No order whatsoever and the only thing I wanted (the Gameboy Advance SP for 49.99) was long gone within the first hour. I left, totally disgusted.

I met my sister at Target and it was a GREAT experience. Everyone was polite, courteous and the employees had everything completely under control. They deserve major kudos for how smoothly things were running. Items were flying off the shelves, however, they kept coming out with more and re-stocking the shelves. I got the GB Advance SP bundle pack which turned out to be a much better deal than what I wanted at Walmart anyway. I got 2 games that were on sale, and a few other hot toys with no problem whatsoever.

I also hit KB Toys in the mall and it was crowded but it was orderly. They had a few good sales there.

I will never do Walmart again. I heard there was a major rush through the doors when it opened (I got there shortly thereafter and didn't witness it). Target will be my first stop from now on. :D

  2. Thankfully, my son reserved one months ago at EB Games (I think, or Game Stop, one of those). We just paid it off yesterday - we pick it up in 2 weeks! :D He is so good at thinking ahead. I, on the other hand, am not. They did say that they got a very limited number of systems and anyone who didn't reserve one has no shot at getting one from them.
  3. My son has a subscription to a gaming magazine and he gets so excited when his magazine comes in the mail, LOL. He reads it from front to back. Also, I got him a beanbag with his favorite NFL team logo and colors last year and he uses it constantly. He really liked that and it was a suprise gift. You can find lots of team-oriented stuff on ebay.
  4. Definitely some type of food. Especially if you don't know them well, you probably have no idea what they would like as far as gifts go. I got this catalog in the mail yesterday for The Swiss Colony and they have some really really nice holiday treats to offer at great prices. :D
  5. You can buy wooden ornaments and door hangers at the craft store (I get them at Michael's) that have pictures on them for the kids to decorate. You can use markers or paint. My kids love to do these - even the older kids. We have so many door hangers and not enough doors!

We also go around looking at lights. There is a very famous house in my county that people come from miles away to see. It's amazing, the amount of stuff they do to decorate this house. :holiday03:holiday07
