So, I read that the Trutech 19" HDTV/DVD combo can also be used as a computer monitor, so can the 22" Westinghouse monitor be used as a television? I read in someone's post, that some computer monitors can be used for television viewing if they have enough AV inputs or something to that effect. I tried looking up the specs on the Westinghouse monitor and didn't really know what I was looking for so if someone could explain this to me that would be fantastic.

My sister only told me about two days ago that she was interested in having one of these. The apartment she lives in has stucco walls so it's very difficult or next to impossible to simply hang pictures and art on the walls, so she wants something to display all the pictures she has on her digital camera and laptop. The one at Target for 50 bucks seems pretty cool. I know it's only the Trutech brand, but if she really likes it and actually uses it we can always buy her a better one. Btw, how do these things work? Does she have to put her memory card from her camera in the frame or what exactly?

I have a question hopefully someone can answer for me. We are planning on getting my little brother an Xbox 360 possibly the Elite for Christmas. Now, at this moment he has just the old original Xbox, (he did have the PS2 but then awful, horrible people broke into our house this summer and stole his PS2, over $500 in games and DVDs, and all of our iPods, and our portable DVD player) and a handful of Xbox games. I want to make sure that the Elite and even just the 20gb Xbox are backwards compatible, so does anyone know if they are indeed backwards compatible with the original Xbox games? Also, at Wal-Mart, the other day I saw these component video cables clearanced for $5, and made specifically for the 360 and i was wondering if these are necessary for the 360 to operate properly and at its best. I mean if we're spending almost $500 I want to make sure it's gonna be the best it can be. We are also planning on getting him a 20" HDTV as right now he has just an old 26" SDTV. The cables were the red, green, yellow and so on cables and then there was something that goes plugged into the back of the console itself. So does anyone know what I'm talking about, lol, and know if these are necessary or just something clueless people like myself buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really think it just depends on the sort of people who show up at that particular store and the customer service at that particular store. To be honest though, i prefer BB over CC anyday. Our CC here is always awful with customer service and having products in stock that they advertise. I have had so many problems with them that I do not go there anymore because BB price matches anyway. Last year on BF I went to CC to get a DVD set at a really great price and there were about 7people in front of me and I was in line for about an hour, no joke. At BB the line was much longer but i was in line 20 minutes tops and the customer service, which was almost non-existent at CC was really gracious and helpful at BB, so that's just my two cents. Well it kind of depends on what kind of MP3 player you have. If you have an iPod you have to be careful that you don't sign up for something that won't play the music you buy on your iPod. I'm not sure about what types of files will play on other MP3 players since i have an iPod but i have come across lots of different music stores and plans that i can think of right now. There is Rhapsody, you pay i think the starting price is $9.99 a month and get unlimited downloads. I had the free trial of this and had to cancel when i realized the songs weren't going to play on my iPod. There's eMusic, which is another plan that you pay for monthly. It starts at $9.99 a month for 30 songs per month, plus it says it will work with an iPod or any other MP3 player. Plus, they give you a free trial and 25 free songs that you can keep even if you decide to cancel after the free trial. That one seems pretty good and they have current and popular music as well as older stuff. Then there's Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go. It says it's like 12 bucks a month, but they bill you in one chunk that adds up to a little over 140 bucks, or you can pay 15 bucks for month to month service. It doesn't work with iPods but says it works with lots of other MP3 players. Plus if you want to look for free MP3 downloads, i love Download.com, it has tons of artists, both established and up and coming with legal, free MP3 downloads, and then i like Purevolume.com as well, but that one is more rock, punk-pop, and that sort of thing. Also try looking for the Myspace (even though i loathe Myspace lol) of a band you like, sometimes they give away free tracks to download. Good luck finding something that fits what you need.

I just wanted to post this I'm not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere in this thread yet, if it has I apologize, but Saturday I found the Apple iPod HiFi speaker on clearance for 174.98 and i just could not pass that up. It was originally 349.00 and i would never ever pay that but with such a deep price cut i couldn't not get it. I am really happy with it too, it's sleek and kind of retro looking and sounds phenomenal.

I ordered a few things from them this year during the 20% off sale they were having. I ordered 3 different John Wayne DVDs for my dad and Lost S2 for my mom. Lost S2 arrived super fast, i was surprised but of course i had to return it because someone else gave it to her as an early Christmas present, lol. Two of the John Wayne dvds i ordered, were ordered on the same night a few hours apart and this was in early to mid November. They had still not arrived by December 10th so i finally emailed customer service and got a response very quickly. They said to wait two more days and if i didn't receive them by that time, email them again with my shipping address and they would resend them. Now I don't know if it was a mix up with them or if it just got lost in the mail shuffle but either way they responded quickly everytime i emailed them and i finally got my dvds, 3 days ago! DDD's prices are good and I am grateful that they responded so quickly but this makes me feel a little weary about ordering from them again.

We got my mom a reversible electric heated fleece throw for Christmas. We bought it from Bed, Bed and Beyond for $49.99 but they also had some at Wal-Mart for 30 bucks i think, just not reversible. I haven't seen it in action so i can't vouch for how well it works but it does seem like it will be pretty warm. It's fleece so it's not the traditional scratchy heated blanket, but a little softer, plus i think it's neat because it's not as big as the regular blankets and maybe won't get so super hot, just something nice and warm to cover up with in addition to her down blanket and stay warm.

So would you say this is a pretty reliable Sirius model? I got one for my dad for Christmas because he wants the NFL stuff that he can't get with the XM he has now. I bought it on BF because it was this price then too, but it seems like the most basic model they have and I am worried that it's not gonna be great. I mean my dad won't care too much about the fancy bells and whistles he just wants the NFL channels and some good music everyonce in a while, but i just want to make sure its gonna get the job done.

I heard about this last night on the local news, and man some people just suck. I mean how crappy, that people like us work hard and save up that money and spend it to get people a giftcard to somewhere nice that we know they will love and then lazy, dishonest jerks go and steal that away from you and that person. It truly just makes me sad. Plus now I am super paranoid about this whole giftcard scam. I had decided a few weeks ago to every time i was at a store someone in my family liked i was going to get them a $5 giftcard to that place and then put them all in their stockings. I mean after about a month of $5 giftcards, it adds up so i thought that would be cool for them, plus it's not eating a huge chunk out of my money all at once. But, like tonight, i went to Target and got this really cute giftcard, made out of like rubber or something, shaped like a video game controller, for my brother and had $5 dollars put on it, then i remembered the scam and now I'm totally worried about it. I hate that. And just to weigh in on the giftcard vs. actual money thing, i have to go with giftcards, because yes money is great to get, but then i think the whole point of giving giftcards, for me anyway is that i know this person loves that store and will find something there that they will like. If i were given money i would love it, but then i would probably end up spending it on necessities like gas, or using it to pay a part of a bill or something, which is no fun at all, whereas with a giftcard, i can go and buy a purse, shirt, or gadget and feel good. Just an opinion though, money, giftcards, it's all good.

My all time favorite movie, not just holiday movie but of every movie I've ever seen is "It's A Wonderful Life", I absolutely love this movie. I don't know if you have that one already but if not you should definitly add this one to your collection. It never fails to bring the cry lump to my throat and make me so thankful for what i have. Also i would recommend "The Santa Clause". I adore this movie, its funny and sweet and just good family entertainment. Happy viewing.

I'm glad you guys thought that was a little bit outrageous like i did and didn't think i was over-reacting. Just to update the situation, this morning my mother and i went back to the same Wal-Mart armed with the definite assurance that the iDog was in fact not being recalled and also with the printed out version of the Wal-Mart recall list. We took the exact same iDogs up to the layaway counter and said we wanted to place them on layaway. The cashier rang them up and again it gave the same message. I went to the electronics dept. to see if i could buy one there. So i got the exact same one as the two we had at the layaway counter and went to the electronics checkout counter. The iDog would not ring up there either. So the cashier called a lady over and asked her about it. Finally this lady said (in a whisper because she was sharing secret information with me lol), "you know what, it's not ringing up because this is a blitz item, it's gonna be on sale for 10 bucks the day after thanksgiving, so if you want to wait you can come back then and get it." I was like "oh ok thank you" and went back to layaway. I was still frustrated but i was relieved that someone had finally told me the truth and not fed me some garbage about the product being recalled. Meanwhile my mom was walking back to toys with the head honcho himself, the store manager, and they were going to check on the iDogs. He was really apologetic and nice and just said that it was a mistake for the associates to tell us that and not check in to it, he said he could understand that we felt like they blew us off. He said if Wal-Mart treated all their customers the way we had been treated they would be out of business. Finally we found out what the problem was. Apparently the $10 dollar iDogs are in a special black box instead of the white box. Of course the three boxes that we happened to choose were the black ones. The white boxed iDogs were still selling at the normal price but those aren't the ones that will be 10 bucks on BF, just the iDogs in the black boxes. He said that the black box iDogs were out by mistake and he was very sorry he didn't know how that had happened. But he told us all of this, he didn't feed us crap about recalls and such, so i appreciated that very much. However, i am still really frustrated with Wal-Mart at this point in time so on BF when i go to buy the iDog for my brother, I'll be buying it from Target. Yes its 7 bucks more but i would rather spend 7 extra dollars than be given the run around again. Besides i love Target more than any other store, and my brother really wanted the red one anyway. I have a similar story to yours about the GBA. There was a Nintendo DS Lite bundle being advertised for this week well it ends tomorrow, but anyway it was the DS Lite, a starter pack and a DS game for 149 i believe. I thought that was a pretty good deal so i went out to Toys R Us the day that ad came out which was Sunday. I told the guy i wanted the black DS and he went and looked and said they didn't have any black ones only white and pink. So i said ok I'll go ahead and take a white one, but can i bring it back sometime this week and exchange it for the black one and he said yea that would be fine as long as it was unopen and i had the receipt. So Thursday evening i called and was told they had them in. Then this afternoon i went to TRU ready to exchange and be very happy, but of course that was not going to happen. I had to wait in line for more than 10 minutes at the customer service counter because there were only 2 people working that spot and one girl didn't know how to do returns, so i was thinking why is she even at the customer service desk if she can't do returns? Anyway finally i got to go back and get the black one. So i ask the person working electronics if i can get the Black DS Lite and she says we don't have any. And i said i was told you did. I said i came Sunday when this ad first came out and you guys didn't have them then, i was told you would be getting some in and i could exchange. So i called yesterday and was told again that they were in so here I am and again i am being told that there arent any. She was like "well its hard to unpack stuff in the back and take care of stuff out here with only one person" but she said it really rudely and i just couldn't believe it. So i left there really angry and determined to get my black Nintendo DS if it kills me and never shop TRU again if i can help it. It's a shame because i really used to like TRU.

I was just at Wal-Mart tonight and i wanted to put a couple of iDogs on layaway before the Black Friday rush. Well my mom asked a manager at customer service about putting items in layaway and then getting them price adjusted on BF. He said that was fine that the price would adjust when you came to get the item out. So we grabbed the two iDogs we want to get and took them back to the layaway dept. Well the person working there scanned it and it scanned up at the BF price of $10. I was like whoa thats cool. But then she said it would not let her make the sale. So she asked a supervisor to come over and check it out. She asked me if it was on clearance and i said no, its marked at 28 bucks. She said that was strange and then she said that there was also nothing on her recall list that would indicate why it would not sell. Finally the other guy came over and he asked another manager over the phone if he knew anything about what was going on with the iDog and the guy told him they were being recalled. I said why is that and they told me it just meant there was something wrong with it so the manufacturer was recalling the product. I left extremely upset. I mean fine if they don't want to sell it to me at the $10 price right now i can sort of understand that, but not even allowing me to put it in layaway and then outright lying to me is just riduculous and extremely upsetting. I looked on the Hasbro site when i got home and it is most definitly not being recalled, and i checked the Wal-Mart recall list and it's not on there either. My mom sent an email to Hasbro and one to the Wal-Mart headquarters telling them about this. Maybe I'm over-reacting but i hate that they just outright lied to me and said it was being recalled because there was something defective in the iDog. End Rant.

Christina2699, i was wondering if you maybe knew anything about the Guitar Hero game advertised in the BF ad. It says it's selling for 59.99 as an early bird special, but do you know if its the bundle, with the guitar and the strap and the game or just the game? My sister desperately wants the first GH for Christmas and this is the cheapest I have seen it. In the ad it shows the game and the guitar but i just want to make sure its actually a bundle and not just the game because i would hate to drive out there and be bummed out about that. Thank you!!

Do you guys think the iDog will sell out early? I know that this is not a new toy this year but it still seems really popular this year. I'm wondering if this is something i need to be at Target early to get or if there is some leeway on this. What does everyone think?

So, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what they think of the portable DVD player for $69.99. We want to get one for my brother for Christmas and this one seems pretty cool, but i think i saw on here, someone said this wasnt really a good deal. Hi, well this won't help you much since you live in the Houston area, but i live in Lubbock, Texas and there is a Super Kmart here. It's not as busy as it used to be but it still gets lots of people there on BF.
