  1. <- Not impressed if that's the 'secret' ad.
  2. Sweet deal! But this is the kind of stuff that gets me in trouble. I didn't think I needed anything from in there until now.
  3. My 3 year old dd wants everything she sees, so she's not hard. My 12 year old ds says he only wants a laptop. We'll see...
  4. The Underland Chronicles Set, by Suzanne Collins A good clean, interesting read. A modern day "Alice in Wonderland".
  5. Great thread!! I have a Thanksgiving favorite: Pumpkin Cookies Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 1/2 cups white sugar 1 cup canned pumpkin puree 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional Glaze: 2 cups confectioners' sugar 3 tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon melted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt; set aside. 2. In a medium bowl, cream together the 1/2 cup of butter and white sugar. Add pumpkin, egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla to butter mixture, and beat until creamy. Mix in dry ingredients. Drop on cookie sheet by tablespoonfuls; flatten slightly. 3. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool cookies. 4. To Make Glaze: Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add milk as needed, to achieve drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cookies with a fork. ______________________________________________________ And a Christmas favorite: Snickerdoodles Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup shortening 1 1/2 cups white sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt Cinnamon Sugar: 2 tablespoons white sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Directions: 1. 6. We usually put ours up Thanksgiving weekend and take it down after New Year's. However this year, I'll have to think about it. I'll be gone the last two weekends in November so it's either put it up the weekend of November 14th or wait until December.
  7. From what I've read, the layaway is only available in stores on large gift items (bikes, outdoor toys, etc.). It requires a $10 fee and 20% down payment. Not so much of a help if you ask me.
  8. I ordered this the last time it was available and split it up to add to gifts throughout the year.

  12. I hope better things are to come because so far, I'm not impressed.
  13. I shopped at Kohls.com last year on BF and had a great experience. :)
  14. I'm thinking on that one. It's a great deal. My dd loves the Disney princesses, but she's not all that crazy about Snow White.
  15. That was a great deal! Congrats to all who got in on it.
  16. My bad... I should have read the original post a little more clearly.
  17. THANK YOU!!! (Yes, I do realize I'm shouting but I am that excited.) I got one pair of jeans, one button up shirt and two t-shirts for less than $50! From American Eagle, that's a pretty dog gone good deal.
