ETA: Sorry, I don't know why those are sideways. I edited them in photobucket to flip them, it shows them right there but not here (not for me anyway).

My store (Decatur, AL) marked down today. They usually have most if not all marked down by opening, but I got there at 8:30 and they hadn't started yet. It wasn't long after that they started though so I just kind of lurked around the area. I unfortunately was in the company of some very rude employees though, and it took all I had not to explode on them! I always hit big Target clearances, and I'm usually there at opening. Well the pricing team leader has asked me several times if I sell stuff on Ebay (which I do not. never have, never will), and I of course always tell her no that I'm buying for my kids, nieces, nephews, friends, and donations for Toys For Tots. We've also discussed the fact I receive an employee discount (yes, it's legally, just don't want to put anymore than that out there). Anyway, so I'm browsing an isle that she's on when someone on the next isle asks her what to do with some dolls. She very loudly said, "Put them in my buggy so I can buy them and sell them on Ebay. Oh wait, I could lose my job for that, ESPECIALLY if I use my employee discount!" At this time I was the ONLY customer in toys, so it really made me feel like the comment was something that I was supposed to hear. Then the people on the next isle kept saying, "Hey Deanna, I have some more dolls for you to buy and sell on Ebay!" I was soooooooooooooooo ready to explode, but my girls were with me (and I didn't want to be banned from Target) so I kept my cool. I called my husband while standing on the next isle over from Deanna and told him what happened. After that I didn't hear anymore Ebay talk. I told my husband that I would gladly give them the name of each child that I bought each toy for, because today the toys I bought were all for nieces, nephews, my kids, and 2 of my kid's friends for their bdays coming up.
Anyway, here is what I scored..........

It's been about 4 years since my Wal-Mart had a good toy markdown. One year they did an additional 50% off clearance price on toys and they were pulling tons and tons of toys from the back that were marked super super cheap already. They did the additional 50% off each day until they got through every department. I really really really really really wish that they would do this again!!

90% off Decatur, AL. Thanks for the heads up, Karen!! I wasn't planning on going until in the morning, because I didn't expect it to be marked until then. I found quite a bit of stuff on my treasure hunt!! There wasn't much in the Vday isle, but TONS scattered all around the store.
###Elmo Loves Hugs book $1.09 (with regular books)
###PEZ $.19
###3 Hand Towels $.39 (there was an entire endcap of hand towels and shower curtains in the home dept.)
###Washclothes $.79 (endcap with hand towels)
###2 Piggy Banks $.99 (They are RE brand, but scanned .99. One is white with lip prints and the other pink with light pink hearts. These were in the girls bedding section with the other piggy banks. They also had pink heart shaped banks for .99 that were on an endcap in home decor)
###Striped Throw $.99 (in girls bedding with the character throws)
###Flower Throw $.99 (in girls bedding)
###3 Baking cups $.19
###3 Pink Heart frames $.49 (endcap in home decor, lots and lots of vday frames there)
###2 Salad plates $.19
###3 Gift bags $.19 & $.29
###4 Littlest Pet Shop sets $.64 (Toys with other LPS stuff. The clear plastic package is heart shaped)
###2 My Little Pony $.49 (Toys with other MLP stuff. Again the clear plastic package is heart shaped. All we found was Pinkie Pie)
###2 Webkins $.99 (pink poodle. Toys with other Webkins. It's in a gift bag that says "I Love You")
###Doodle Pro $.59 (Red heart shaped. This was found on a random isle)
###Vday throw pillow $.99 (on endcap with hand towels)
I also spotted a bunch of Carters bibs, onsies, and headbands that were Vday printed in the infants section, but I didn't need them so I didn't scan them.

Picked up 2 girls long sleeve shirts and a Christmas type dress (it's pink and black) for 75% off. Also got lint rollers with 2 refills for 75% off, and an It's So Me mini backpack with markers that you color yourself (stationary department). My store also still has a TON of the metal drink bottles for 75% of in the sporting goods department.

Wow! You found even more stuff that I never saw. When did you find these? I found a Lighting McQueen Ball and glove set on Thursday, but it wasn't 75% off yet. Did these get marked down on Friday or is it totally different from the Franklin one you got?
I got everything on Thursday. I didn't find the glove until my noon visit, it wasn't marked down when I left at 9am but when I went back it had been marked down.
Not sure if this helps you but here is the DPCI....It's a blue and black glove with a white and blue ball.......088090071

No one even in the toy aisles at my store today so you never know!
I'm hoping the same for my store! I get all panicky with this toy sale because I'm afraid I'll blink and miss it. LOL. I'm also worried that they might be behind since I doubt many showed up to work on Monday and possibly Tuesday.
-
Hoping that my store didn't go today!! They're usually a Thursday store, but all you people posting and saying that your Thursday stores went today is scaring me!!! Maybe if they did go today then not many went since all the roads are an icy/slushy mess!
-
I have a question...seems like everyone is thinking the 75% off will be Thursday? but I thought the schedule says they do toys on wed.??
I cant wait for them to go 75% off already and be done with it, im loosing sleep thinking about the items I really want and hope to get HAHA. Its stressful not knowing what day to expect them to get marked down again. But I will say, target clearance shopping is a total adrenaline rush!
I think it varies from store to store. Some people report toys being marked down on Wednesday, but I know that my store does it on Thursday. Although last year it didn't happen til Friday.
-
I went to another Target. No Mighty Beans and very little toy clearance; they didn't have the full couple of aisles of clearance that the other stores seem to have.
For the 90% off, I got 2 of the Corona and Budweiser beer bucket and glass sets, 8 pairs of the Paul Frank mukluks, a men's toiletry bag, a Nick and Nora pj set, and a pair of Christmas slippers.
For 75% off, I got 2 packages of the Fruit of the Loom boy shorts.
Does anyone know what happens to the items they salvage? Do the items get donated, destroyed, thrown away?
They sell a lot to Big Lots, but I'm not sure if that's stuff that gets salvaged or just stuff that never even makes it to stores. They do donate some of it to Goodwill.
-
Is it just me or does this week seem too soon? Is there a list of past dates around anywhere?
Here are my store dates for the last 3 years...
Toys 08
Jan. 10th, 2008 = 75%
Toys 09
Jan. 15th, 2009 = 75% on MOST toys some still 30-50%
Jan. 29th, 2009 = 75% on remaining toys
Toys 10
Jan. 15th, 2010 = 75% (Friday)
-
I called a pretty reliable Target and the guy in the toy department said that they did mark some things 75% today, but that most were marked 30-50%. Now I really feel like I need to go in case it was something that I've been watching, but I'd really rather take a nap today. LOL.
-
markig toys 75 now
WHAT?!?! Grrr, now I feel like I NEED to make a Target run but I don't really want to leave the house again or waste the gas if they aren't being marked at my store. Anyone else saw 75% off toys today?
-
A deal on the tape.......If you find the 3 packs of tape they have coupons on them. There is a coupon for $1 off 1 pop-up tape dispenser, so if you also find the pop-up tape dispensers for 90% off then Target pays you .80 to take it. :) I didn't catch this until after I was home with all of my tape, but I told a friend about it and she was able to do it.
-
My Targets are doing a much better job this year of cleaning out the regular isles and getting all the seasonal on the sale shelf.
Mine too!
-
90% at my store this morning!! Found 3 packs of scotch tape for .30 each in the regular isle (green pack that says $5 off and bonus 150 inches). After I got 9 there were still about 20 left!! They also had the single rolls for .20 (green and purple they say something about bonus inches) There were also pop up dispensers there for .20 (silver with a little gift in one of the corners). I also found the cocoa goldfish in their regular isle for .21. My DD loaded up 6 bags of them and said that was enough, so we left 7 bags. Sadly all the aluminum foil that was in the regular isle was gone . I was so hoping that it would still be there at 90% and I was going to clean up, but it looks like someone else decided to get it all at 75%. Oh well though I got some at 75%. While i was there I also noticed that they were rearranging toys. I asked the girl if they were marking down today since they're usually a Thursday store, but she said that they were just rearranging. I probably should have spent more time looking in that section but DD kept getting distracted and wouldn't come on.
-
My store usually does toy markdowns on Thursday, but last year they got all tricky and did it on Friday, soooooo....starting the 13th I will be checking Target every Thursday AND Friday until 75% happens. I'm only about 15 minutes from my Target and I'm out taking DD to school anyway, so I can half way justify all those trips. LOL.
-
On Saturday, My store had a Dyson regular $449 for $319.
Karen - It was actually $224.50. The 50% off sticker was on the other side so I turned it around and put the 30% on the outside. LOL. I was hoping for 75%, but no such luck! They had 2 of them on Thursday and Friday, but when I checked Sunday they were both gone.

Still 50% in Decatur, AL. The 50% sing in the $1 spot said 12/26-12/29, so I'm going bright and early again tomorrow. I'm worried about 90% though because at Halloween the day ours went 90% they were packing it up at 9am!!! I've never known them to pack it up that quickly, so I'm worried that Christmas might not even make it to 90%. Yesterday I saw them packing up some towels that haven't even gone clearance. I would've thought that they were moving them but they were packing them in boxes that said "Target Distribution Center", which is what they packed Halloween in. I wonder if the 70% and not staying 90% for very long has anything to do with the extra 5% offered with the redcard?? LOTS of people have the debit cards now to save the 5% so I'm sure Target isn't making near as much money.
Here are the dates from my store........
Christmas 07
Dec. 26th, 2007 = 50%
Monday, Dec. 31st, 2007 = 75%
